It seems my building career is altmost over, (i know i havn't made that many maps) or at least halted.Looks like i've hit yet another brick wall of BUILD laziness.Work on my new DM level has slimed down to altmost nothing for a week now.I hope i'll get more fire to work on my level before DNF comes out images/icons/wink.gif So, i'm just gonna chill for a while, and then hopefully get back to building.

The BUILD fever once hit me (back in 1997) and it will probably never leave me...

Well, my fever is over.. actually I'm sick of Duke but wouldn't it be a bit dumb to cancel a project thats currenctly on 96%?

Yeah, thats maybe a kinda stupid idea...And Alejandro, do you mean that Military Madness was your last map?

Kef Nukem

In my eyes, no. He just said his BUILDING-speed has been slowed down.

Btw people, have respect for this Sangluss guy, he's only 10 and Dutch so do't expect his English to be as good as mine (although mine is even poor images/icons/smile.gif ).

Read the MM's TXT file... It was definitely my last map... until I make a new one images/icons/wink.gif

BTW I'm currently making a city map

Good news! And also a good joke...Millitary Madness was a good map and if that city map is better, then I would surely enjoy it...

Now I'm able to use internet so often that I can easily keep internet open while I'm building for Half-Life so I can read tutorials at the same time.

If my HF episode isn't good, then I think I should be sick of Build. I made (starting from cabine.map) 20 maps.

Yeah but Sangluss, like I said before, you make your maps way to fast. Take time to make them. You're maps are mostly only 100 sectors but actually they're huge in size. Take more time to detail your maps and stuff.

Wel at James Nukem I taked my time. But mostly, when I make a map, I get another idea. For example Spin Cycle 2, I worked a few hours on it, and then started JN. Sc2 is unfinished for a long, looooooonggg time! And JN is also holded by the HF episode...

BTW: Does somebody around here know how I get the Carribean art in build? Yeah, youre al gonna say, use kextract or what?...

Either way, you'll end up using kextract.

Thats not right! You can copy the original into another directory, rename that GRP of carribean, build something and get the original GRP file back in town! But i'll try...

This will not overwrite any of the GRP files and you'll not lose a thing (unless you already have some *.art files in that dir).

Another way is:
rename Duke3d.grp to something else (ren Duke3d.grp Duke3d.old)
copy Carribean.grp to Duke3d.grp (copy Carribean.grp Duke3d.grp)

Voila. No problem images/icons/smile.gif

I was making a level and then got an excellent idea for a better map. But you really should stick with the map you are making and do not start another before the first one is finished. And details are the most important thing in today's levels so pay attention to them.

Never Stop Building, NEVER! Well, maybe take a break from it, go do other things, there's lots of life out there you know you silly boys! graemlins/hhg.gif But I think a good and decent art form needs nurishment once in a while. I'd hate to see that any of you guys quit building for my favorite first-person shootemup for good! images/icons/frown.gif I don't intend to quit, I just have long lags where I'm designing my in-house visitor's site or drawing portraits or ... I got a list of some 10 maybe 15 names right now that I'm always hoping to find some fresh stuff authored by.

Read the MM's TXT file... It was definitely my last map... until I make a new one images/icons/wink.gif <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">That's what I like to hear! graemlins/dopefish.gif

Sometimes I wish to BUILD some kick-ass map again but BUILD just doesn't work with WinXP. Darn.

ya know....I think Build should have a "new look". Yeah, Mapster is a good example, but it iis boring that Mapster automaticcly saves.

Gues what happened now: Started on a map but don't wanna finish it images/icons/frown.gif .

I still have build fever, only some time ago I came to my senses and moved it on to more sophisticated software.

BUILD is where it started though.
