I think we have to get used to the fact that most games are ***** idiotic rehashes of alien/demon/sci-fi concepts and that nobody wants to innovate anymore. This goes both ways.

I played the demo, after finishing the demo I was happy it was over.
when really bored, I might search someone with a copy, just to give the full a try (if I bother to finish it)

After playing the demo, I must say this game sucks.

I agree, but it could be that the Xbox version also sucked.
there are also not much video options

Area 51 looks and sounds promising though. I like the official website, it's very stylish and has very immersive background music. I also like some of the ingame effects I've seen in a A51 gameplay video.

I was really looking forward to this game, but peopls response to the demo kindof knocked some wind out of me.
I would really like the opinion of someone who owns the full game. Demo's can be misleading, for say if the demo level is a really crappy one compared to the rest of the game.

Not true. I'm a huge DX fan and I found this game horrible. It doesn't remind me of Deus at all, if anything Project: Snowblind is better than this.

Well, I can shed some hope, and I rented the Xbox version, and almost finished it.

The PC demo is one of the WORST levels in the game. The game just throws itself away right after you turn into a Mutant, but the amazing story will keep you going.

The AI is pretty smart actually. Your team-mates provide tons of cover, and point out enemies from time to time.

I have the full version for PS2 and IMO it's a waste of money to buy it. From what people are saying about the demo it sounds like the full game didnt change much, it really is boring. The first few levels were fun. You had a party of like 3 or 4 people and it was kinda neat (although they sure rush you a lot) but once they all get killed off and you turn into a mutant it's dull and repetative.

I will agree with Dogy that the story is pretty cool, but then, he rented it so he didn't get the full effect of "I just spent $50 on this friggen thing." http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif

I agree, the guns are too weak.
I always use that gun that reloads itself, plasma-like gun.

the grenades are also horrible, you can't control the throw distance etc
