I notice that ProAsm's new levels have a custom sw.def included in the grp/zip file .
If there is also a sw.def in the root jfsw directory which def takes priority? Will defs in the mod overrule any in the root dir?
This could be quite useful as i have had some major crashes with mods using the hi-res textures - even simple ones like the fonts. Otherwise the sw.def has to be moved or renamed. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The one in the root will be used. But should not be a problem since it should realy not be directly in the root but in a zip file together with the highres art. Way cleaner that way and makes it easier to start sw without the highres art.

Thx for that Parkar
Makes sense and yes i can see now why you zip up the hi-res pack - I just always had mine unzipped so that it's easier to view and edit textures etc. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
A nice option would be to have an "exclude.def " define.

Yeah currently the User.def is all you need, provided its in the sw.def.
Unfortunately if you have a Sw.def in your Grp or Zip file the game does not make it as its preference, infact it gets ignored, hence I have removed it now from all the TC's and only have a User.def

The Exclude is a good idea as atm things work fine but once the guys start creating some MD3's then we are going to run into problems as a new MD3 in the User.def does not overwrite or replace an existing one.
