You'll have to give us a little more info on what errors you are seeing...

Does regular Duke still run fine?

Hope that helps explain it.

The thing is, though, I installed it the EXACT same way on my older computer (Which is running EDuke as we speak), and it works fine. But I do it on my new computer and blam. It doesn't.

Also, can I have sound? Or is my card too new to be supported?

EDIT:

And YES, regular Duke3D (In the same Directory) runs just fine.

I installed Atomic v1.5. Not Plutonia or whatever. I proceeded to install EDuke. Install worked fine. However, it has errors in the EDuke.con file. Like...lots. Spelling errors or something. I have no clue what to do, since I installed it on my older computer just fine.

Also, anyway to get sound working with a Creative SoundBlaster Live! X-Gamer 5.1?

Take a good look at some of those undefined statements... ASERMODE? TRUCTABLE? RINKERAMMO? The problem seems to be that new computer chopping off the first few characters, and not Eduke. Might want to keep that older system around for old games.

Why would it do that?

I know they are spelling mistakes due to chopped off letters. But I have the same OS as the old one. Only difference is speed and video card.

When Duke was released, the maximum available was 200 megahertz. I know it s***s loosing the speed, but it may be the only way.

What does speed have to do with the program reading the .con file wrong?

I've been here long enough to have seen threads with the same problem running old DOS games on fast computers. They received the same advice about slowing down their computers, the only difference was they were at least willing to try what had been suggested.

As far as I'm concerned, this thread is closed! graemlins/dopefish.gif

Nobody else is getting those errors, so I doubt it is OS/CPU speed related.

Try re-downloading the software. Perhaps it is corrupted.

I thought about that, but never re-downloaded it since I needed a better answer.

I'll try that right now, though.

Thanks!

I downloaded it from 3 different places (FilePlanet, 3DRealms, and some mod's website), and they all came out with the same results.

I know it's not my Duke Nukem cause I did the same thing upstairs (Other comp) and it works fine...

Hmm.

It was a serious and unsarcastic question...

How does it affect it?

Where could I get a "slow-down" program, then?

So what should I do?
