I have a small problem

Build didn't come on my disc images/icons/frown.gif
Do you guys know of any way this can be fixed? Download, maybe I can send in my faulty CD for a new one? Help me out here.

I don't think Target sells bootleg. Now, I had posted this question about 2 years ago, and was told the following: There were a few CDs that went out without Build, and I'm stuck with one of them. The only thing wrong with it AFAIK, is that I cannot even find a build directory anywhere on the disk, and (this is probably my fault and not the CDs) I do not know how to get that"Special Duke Plutonium Offer" to work. There's a wierd file in the plutinst directory, but it doesn't do anything. I dearly hope I can get some help.

You can download Mapster on my SST Files site. It's very much like Build only a little better.

I bought one of these too. Pissed me off! The box even said it had build on it, but it didn't.

Anyway, IIRC, the Duke3D cd's that have build on them have an A at the end of the code on the spindle, wheras the faulty ones don't. I have one with and one without.

I got my faulty disk from the local Alco. They have a "random software at random prices" section.

Oh yeah, and the "Plutonium Pak" upgrade thing on the cd. heh heh.. Frankly, I'd rather just get an atomic cd.

Ok, on the Install, I can choose the following:

Duke Nukem I
Duke Nukem II
Duke Nukem 3D
Raptor
Realms of Chaos
Rise of the Triad
Terminal Velocity
Wacky Wheels

I don't see build anywhere. As for Mapster, I downloaded it the last time I asked this question, and couldn't find out how to work it. All I saw was this green field with a red block on it, and couldn't make sense of most of the menus. I think I'm gonna try the email. I do have one thing to say though: You guys were a lot more helpfull this time images/icons/smile.gif

[EDIT] My CD key is 04-90081 Z7410K. I read it backwards (since the letters and numbers were backwards), I hope that's what I was supposed to do. Also, right after that in non-backwards letters (and in fine print), is IFPI L533. I hope those help in diagnosing my problem images/icons/smile.gif

[EDIT again] Got mapster to work, however it only works when I choose to restart in MS-dos mode, where my mouse won't work, and since I don't have DOS, I can't use the mouse command to fix that images/icons/frown.gif

No way, if you run the install problem (yes, for duke) you'll notice 3 things to select. So select what you want to install. So for now, only install build.

You can put it on or off with space...It is on if you see a sort of asterisk (*).

What is so confusing at it? If you are not sure if it is legal to put build on your site (like I did images/icons/frown.gif ) then put Mapster there and just say that you'll need to run kextract duke3d.grp *.art, or, kextract duke3d.grp *.*

i'm pretty sure mapster doesn't need the art extracting terminex was intending it's use with duke remember

on another note joe why are you so worried about protecting you few small mods to build

especially when terminx has produced mapster which has all the important features that were in duke build
