Like most games, you need the registered version of Blood to create levels.

No ya don't. You can make Blood levels with shareware and the editor at Planet Blood (http://www.planetblood.com), but you won't be able to test them. I tried, realized I couldn't do that, then I bought the game.

Ok people out there, I shouldn't post this mess in here, because it is another game BUT it does also use build!
I'm talking about "Blood" now. (i have the shareware images/icons/frown.gif )
I tryed to copy Build from the Duke CD in Blood but it doesn't looks well :-/...So gues my question. Is this the same things with "not-legal" or is it the 'blood-build' downloadable somewhere?

You need to talk to the Blood folks. Besides, I thought it was on their CD, too.

I've got Blood to, and also the shareware version images/icons/mad.gif
Anyway, I tried to unpack the grouped file with kextract, hmmm: didn't work, as I suspected
So, it doesn't matter, It isn't a .grp file anyway, and if it was, it doesn't have .maps and it works very differently (it even has 3D sprites!!!*) So, I geuss I'll just need to buy the full game... or shouldn't I? At least I can edit some other game with Duke, Redneck Rampage!

*If you don't believe me about this, just download the shareware version of Blood, or just buy the full game! (recommended if you hate downloading)

I just checked - you are supposed to have the registered version of Blood with the editor that came with it - just like Duke3D.
Not supposed to be made available.

It was at one time available. Did I screw up for downloading it, or is it them who screwed up for making it available?
It wasn't on my Blood disc, anyway.

As I recall, you need registered Blood to play the levels (officially) but I think Monolith released the editor online prior to the registered version coming out so that people could learn it with the shareware version.
What's common and decidedly illegal is the fact that many Blood sites (at least used to, haven't checked in a year) supply Duke3d's editart rather than a source-compiled version from Ken's code.
Kextract won't work on blood at all. I think there's a util called "barf" that's supposed to extract the files. Check planetblood or ask Saettler.
