Yeah, the Beretta models in MP. They look just like Berettas, and they're called Berettas, so what's up with the slides/grip?

Instead of saying "Beretta" on the grip it says "Reck". And instead of saying "Pietro Beretta Model 92FS cal. 9 Parabellum," it says, "Miami Mod 9". Why is it different-looking? Other games, such as Counter-Strike, etc. call guns by their real names and zooming in on them reveals the proper etchings on them.

Well you see, its kind of extra effort for no reason to get Berretta to licence and allow the Beretta name and logo to be in Max Payne, when there are COUNTLESS rip off's of its design by MANY MANY nameless producers, and i havent seen many games with the real name except for Tac sims like Rainbow 6's but they strive for realism while Max is just for fun images/icons/cool.gif , as for Counter-Strike, hmm i have Retail and my AK is called a CV-47, and my MP5 is THE SMG , LOL, makes me miss the MOD version which has the real names, but mod and retail is a big difference

Maybe it's because guns are pretty hard to obtain in Finland, each one must be registered and you need a license (which is good). We were too busy developing the game to set up contacts with local gun clubs to take reference photos, so in Beretta's case we settled for a replica.

Just guess if we were able to gain access to, say, a real M79 or a Pancor Jackhammer for that matter... (I don't think many people can actually, otherwise we'd already have received tons of nitpicking over those - they can't possibly be 100% right since they were modelled only after blurry photos and illustrations we were able to access)

Regardless, it says "bang" and does the job. That's all you need, right? Actually you should frolic in the meadows out of sheer joy just over the fact you can actually see the markings in a 3rd person game. images/icons/smile.gif

Well, if nobody else is going to...I will.

Oh, that's all we need

"In other news, a heavily armed finnish group has held up e3, they are demanding 'all your base', next up, could your goldfish be killing you?"

I can see it, the Madonion people looking out into the parking lot trying to figure out why all the cars are exploding. "Just gotta get these garage level explosions right"

LOL images/icons/grin.gif Wouldn't be easy to obtain a Jackhammer though. They are not in production as of yet I think.

That would be just the thing for those press-only demos.

Man you guys should order, spring airsoft pistols, from Japan. They are fairly cheap and they having astonishing accuracy to the real thing ( The Japanese are real good at copying ). They are plastic BB guns you can shoot at people.

you can check out these sites if you need more info:

www.dentrinity.com (http://www.dentrinity.com)
www.redwolfairsoft.com (http://www.redwolfairsoft.com)
www.airsoftzone.com (http://www.airsoftzone.com)

I got a chance to talk to the A.I programmer for Halflife (before the game became a hit), and he uses the airsoft for uh... Office duty.

Um, are there any airsoft Jackhammers or M79s available? What would the latter shoot? Squash balls? images/icons/smile.gif

I'm worried about the environmental issues of outdoor BB wars. Paintballs are biodegradable. BB gun plastic beads are not. Might birds mistake them for berries and swallow them?

Unless of course you give the teams a big motivator by setting a rule that the losing team must pick up every single bead from the battle ground. images/icons/wink.gif

Skaven the Bird Avenger. images/icons/grin.gif

You are very right about the beads, however. Surprisingly, we don't actually shoot the guns, we just run around and try to "look cool with them".
images/icons/rolleyes.gif Yes, looking cool is the entire idea behind having a gun.Sheesh, I'm such a loser

The bb bullet's are downbreakable by nature too, technology eh? (they never mention that it'll take ten years images/icons/grin.gif )

There are shotgun airsofts, yep. My brother has a Benelli shotgun, it uses cartridges which has many bullets in it, and is refillable. You put them into the shotgun as in real-life, looks really cool images/icons/grin.gif Shoots 3 bb's at the time, pretty powerful too images/icons/wink.gif

Speaking of which, I have a jar full of BB gun beads that smell like garlic. I broke the original container and needed a replacement, and all I had available was an old jar of garlic powder.

The ideal weapon to annoy vampires with, I take it.
