I'm feeling nostalgic for many of my old DOS games, as well as some decent looking ones I found as abandonware. However, they will not run on my modern computer, which doesn't even have a floppy disk drive!

DOSBOX hasn't been very friendly with me. I mostly want to play Master of Magic. I want to know if there's any store that sells old computers that could play it. I don't feel comfortable with Ebay. I don't want anything too ancient, but old enough for DOS games.

Sometimes, the latest flashy graphics just don't do it for me...

If you are going to be around the general Atlanta or North Georgia area I could hook you up with something, but I think you would be okay with ebay.

You can get a cheap used Optiplex for under $50, I can personally testify that the GX1 works fine with Windows 98se and is a pretty solid system. We still use them at the company I work for and they survive all manner of abuse so you probably won't get a DOA (though you might have to get your own hard drive). Just look for a seller with a good rating that has a warranty on the item.

Thanks for the recommendation. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm even considering putting together an old computer for practice purposes. I can pop in memory or a video card, but I've never assembled everything before.

If you want REALLY old-school, I maybe could hook you up with a CP/M machine. I think it's an Osborne 1, the first portable computer, but I need to check with my dad.

Well, if you ever pop into the Cleveland area, there's a few good stores that'll sell you a nice antique PC, maybe not TOO old, but something from the last 10 years at least, am I right? Well, I believe that there's a local shop that sells older/used PCs. I know that he's a Value Software store, but he does sell PCs as well, or at least the last time I visited his shop. http://www.valuesoftware.com. Whether he sells any of his PCs online, that's another thing. I really can't say if this store would be of any help to you, but that all depends on where you live.
