This is a very nice freeware dictionary and thesaurus. Also has a handy anagram lookup function built-in. It uses tabs to keep track of several words at once. (Use the left mouse button to select a tab and the right mouse button to delete it.) Check it out. This is useful, very useful - it'll be better than the DOS version of the Oxford dictionary I've been using for ages.

However, I was a little offended at its choice of word when I started it up http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tinyted.gif

(actually, I'd just been downloading and installing an art program called GIMP - at least, I hope that's the explanation!)

I use the free version of WordWeb (http://wordweb.info/free/).

But this seems pretty nice for a freeware. I'll definitely try it out.

Wordweb is great. Comes with pronunciation, synonyms and related words plus supports wildcards '?' & '*' and I've often considered upgrading it to Pro for that. I just might if there are further features besides the anagram. Wish they'd allow us to test that too.

The Sage is nice and since it's freeware I'll keep it. Its anagram feature is limited but cool to play with.

Yes, but where does the dictionary file come from? Not Urbandictionary.com I hope http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ok, just tried it. I pumped in a few difficult words and it knew them at least. My only complaint is that the definitions are a little too, shall we say, concise.
