Okay, I figured this would make a good poll.
I just finished HL2 again, and was wondering as I was flinging bodies around the last level, which version of the gravity gun do people like the best?
So here it goes, just pick which version you prefer.
And lets try to be civil about this. If this turns into a huge stupid argument, I will simply try to get the thread deleted.

Gotta be the organic. My jaw was dropped for the entire last chapter of HL2 because I was able to do things with the manipulator that I had been whining about not having been able to do throughout the whole game. Just caught me by surprise.

I found the blue one to be more entertaining.

I wished they gave you the blue one earlier....but then the game might have been too easy.

The blue one should've had ammo, some sort of energy perhaps. It's just waaay too easy when you can use it all the time.

Well it was the end of the game http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif They just wanted to let you have fun.

Hehe, well.. I just don't like when the last level of a game is the easiest level in the entire game. Also I grew tired of it very quickly.

I preferred the orange iteration. Sure, it's fun flinging Combine soldiers around, but I much preferred the standard gun because there was more for it to do. One of my favorite moments the first time I played through was in Ravenholm. I didn't realize the zombies would keep spawning and I used up all my ammo trying to clear the level. I had to make it through a fair portion of the town with just the gravity gun, and I had an absolute blast!

That's what I didn't like about Ravenholm. I thought it got old very fast to throw stuff at every zombie there. Some is OK, but I'd prefer if I had the option to shoot them too.

Definitely the blue/organic version. While I had loved the Gravity Gun the entire game, the whole time I was wishing in the back of my mind that I could grab heavier objects with it, and actually pick up and throw those damn Combine soldiers around.
Finally doing that at the end of the game made me go nearly ecstatic with joy. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The blue one, I don't understand why you name it Organic, though..

Because it can pick up organic objects.

The enhanced Gravity Gun. It was like playing a Star Wars game and finally getting your light saber (of course, I had a similar feeling when I got the crowbar). Still, I'm glad it was only used in the final chapter, as it would've made an already easy game way too easy had it been available earlier.

I don't see how this could turn into a stupid argument, anyway, I have no preference

Yep, the orange one let you pick up inorganic objects (tires, boxes, chairs) and the blue one let you pick up organic objects (people).
Plus that's what it's called in the strategy guide.
Me personaly, I like the orange one. The reason why has already been mentioned, it just makes the last level to easy.

btw, you guys have seen what Mesh (http://www.mackandmesh.com) did with the blue gravity gun, right? http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Though strangely enough, the orange gun can shoot and actually kill headcrabs (though it does nothing to them once they're dead), and it can flip over antlions.

Don't forget Strider legs and Antlion guards.

Yeah, that always has kindof bugged me. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif The strider's and gunship's I can understand, because they're like biomechanicle.
But antlions and head crads are organic, if I can shoot them with the primary fire, why not combine?
Yeah I loved the orange one.. just flinging paint cans at the zombies was great fun http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yes, that word exists in English (and your spelling was right on the money).

Nicely put. I felt the same way. I still loved the orange version, but the blue one in the end was just an awesome surprise for me. You were able to wreak havoc (pun intended). If only there were more objects to fling around. Ah well.
Blue for me. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I gotta stay with orange. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I liked being able to fling around sawblades, and push cars off the roads. But once I reached the last level and got the ability to use it one the combine, at first I thought "Kick ass!"
But soon after I thought, "This is so damn boring." The blue version just made it way to damn easy. The last level was the easiest one for more... and I was hoping for a kick ass challange.
