Me and some friends are going to have a LAN party, and we need some games to play. Does anyone know any good cheap multiplayer games?
I'm tired of CS, UT2004 and WC3. Would love to see games a bit like the old DN3D with rocket launchers and jetpacks! A game like "destroy all humans" would have been awsome as a mulitiplayer game for PC! :-D
Thanks

Doom II if your looking for fps. Other than that, Jazz Jackrabbit 2; best multiplayer game ever, and easy to figure out too.
EDIT: Forgot Prices :P Doom Collectors Edition is only like 20 bucks and JJ2 isnt in stores in the US anymore. maybe online you could get it.

I've always found Soldier of Fortune 2 to be a really fun, pretty straight-forward deathmatch game. And Worms is totally a classic (great responses in a LAN party environment) if you get into that sort of thing.

He's absolutely right. SOF2 and Worms are the games to break the CS doldrums.
Another idea is to have an "old-skool LAN." Friends and I get Quake 1, Duke 3D, Doom, and any other games we played as kids and LAN them the entire night. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well if you can wait just a bit, oh I don't know, a month, a year, who knows mabey a whole decade. The team I am working with will have one ready! Oh it will be NOTHING like the old DN3D, or those other ones you mentioned, this one will kick you where it hurts! (Hint you will find it's progress in one of the web sites on my signature, I cain't say which, it's a secret!)
P.S. The Gunner boat below I created, is a WIP for the game...

serious sam: the second encounter, best multiplayer deathmatch I've ever played.
RTCW: ET is FREE, but team based objective, not a fast paced deathmatch like you are looking for.
serious sam is very fast paced, full of vertical launch pads http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
It's multiplayer is awesome, plus the free add-on Enemy Territory. Some damn great multiplayer right there man.

ET is not an addon, you can install it without having RTCW

ET was originaly planned as an add-on with a single player campaign. The single player portion was canceled and the multiplayer was released for free over the internet. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
So technically it was, but it isn't. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Quake 2 Deathmatch is about the best there is imho. Awesome balance in the weapons. As people have already said, Serious Sam has just about the best co-op going. I've not played it in DM really, so couldn't comment about that, but SS Co-op is bloody awesome.

My suggestions exactly.
One Must Fall, if you can get modem emulation working for you and you like fighting games. It's free, now!
As Phayzon said above, JJ2 is also a great multiplayer experience if you like platformers. There's a small secluded community built around it. It costs around $9.

Heaven forbid you just tell us where we can find out about your mod, thus promoting it properly. Really, do you think anyone is interested enough by that picture you put up to put forth the slightest effort such as deciding between 3 links? Come on man, its a skill to work the crowd, but you're in no position. Just a bit of advice.

Either Soldier of Fortune game is fine for multiplayer. Go for SOF1 if you like it Quake style, go for SOF2 if you enjoy bit more realistic trappings.

Nexuiz (http://www.nexuiz.com/) is free and it's an online fps.
CUBE (http://cube.sourceforge.net/) - free FPS and a bit of fun. Very high frame rates at high rez on low end machines.
