Is it possible in build to copy an entire portion of one map, and past it in another? Or do I have to redo the entire thing perfectly?

It's been awhile since i did copy and past, but i do believe you can copy whole sections and past them into another map. If you need help, i'll have to fire up Duke and try it before i can hellp you. images/icons/frown.gif

Yes you can copy and paste.
You can download the FAQ, which explains the details, from my site.

One thing to remember, it’s not part of the FAQ, make sure that you have enough space, sector wise, of the map you are copying from. For example if the sector amount of the map and the ones to be copied are over the limit the copy does not work. For example if the map has 955 sectors and you are trying to copy 455 sectors from that map you are out of luck, since it exceeds the total of 1024 sectors.

Put the cursor in the upper left area outside of the sector(S) you want to copy, push and hold the right ALT, then push the left mouse and drag to the other corner of the sector(s) and release the ALT button first

Place the cursor inside the green highlited sector(s), hold down the left mouse and hit the insert button once.

Load the other map (or whatever), then position the copied sector(s) to where you want and hit the alt key and the highlite will disapear. images/icons/grin.gif

Two mistakes Ding Bat images/icons/wink.gif

- No need to use any mouse button to select your sectors (right alt and mouse move only).

- No need to use insert key (nor left button) to copy sectors before you load the other map. You need that to copy and paste inside the same map only.

To delete several sectors at once, use sector selection
