After observing that the official site for Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows carries no PC-CD logo, we inquired with Midway after the game's status, and received confirmation that only the console ports are still in development. Consequently we have removed our game section for this title.

the two senior designers left, one including John Romero. I don't know all the logistics of the split, whether it's an amicable one no one knows because all three camps have been giving one line reasons. But really it's only the persons involved who need to know that info.
Unfortunately even though Midway says Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows will continue through, I don't see it making the Oct 10th. Shoot date.

Another split? Is Romero cursed?

well the other guy left too, I'm starting to think that maybe Midway had something to do with it, or the designers didn't agree with Midway on something. either or.
and no, I don't think he's cursed. He's a pretty nice guy if most people ever cared. He has to be the biggest diehard Dokken fan I know.
Alot of people still have the debacle that was Ion Storm's troubles still in their mind when they think of him, though; and that's pretty sad.
There's a shitload of stuff that went on that no game development process should ever have to deal with and then you have some alot of other factors that just kept building on and causing more strife.

Thanks for the informative post, pjohnsonjr.
I believe John left because he didn't want to be involved in another Daikatana.
If I was any of you, I'd do myself a favor and read a review, hell read 2 or 3 reviews, and then consider buying the game if you like the reviews. Don't waste your money on shit you don't need or don't want.
The software and game industries would really do well with a dedicated and developer (not management) quality review board (if there isn't one already).
Lastly, Midway is known for shitastic games, so I wouldn't expect anything more than a flop.

My thoughts exactly. I read the top post and thought, "So? It's not like this game was going to be good. Nice to see that crap staying on the consoles where it belongs!"

Apparently he was bringing Rhaluka into work a lot, I dunno if that had anything to do with it, but a friend who knows him thinks he was fired..

Is this a sequal to the arcade hack and slash games? If so they all sucked in my opinion...

Hack and slash, not exactly in traditional meaning of the term. But it's a fast paced arcade action in that nature. A decently fun game for what it was, as I remember it.
I didn't even know there was going to be a new one until now. The gameplay seems more suited for console use anyway.

Psi-Ops was good, although it wouldn't run on most PCs(damn cheapass progammers)!

Rhaluka just moved over here to the states so he was spending time with him, and she did come to the offices. But that's not entirely unheard of especially during crunch time. If Romero was the only one who left, it'd be plausible, but I don't think so. I've heard that rumor to and I just don't see truth to it, and also it's something I don't think we should be concerned about (it's really none of our business).
Usually when the two designers leave, it's usually a confrontation on development. But like I said, none of our business. I don't think he was fired, especially if the other designer left. But it's really none of our business.
