Are you pressing the Enter key on the keypad? (far right)

Make sure Build is in the SAME directory as the Duke 3D game (not a subdirectory)

I've used Build for many of my home made maps . Its really a problem in the program or maybe an incompabitily with winxp or something .

does anyone have any suggetions ?

Download Jonof's Duke 3D port (http://jonof.edgenetwork.org/). It comes with a Windows version of Build.

there are a few things that Jonof's build doesn't have that Duke 3D build does have, but it's extremely good if you wanna make levels in Windows XP. I know it crashes when you view mirrors sometimes, and some shortcuts on 3D mode aren't there like ALT+S for shading, ' + T and ' + H for lotag/hitag but thats life.

I had this problem, I used Mapster and I was good to go.

Didn't 3dr release there source for there build or did they just package kens in there?

The source for the modifications made to build for Duke3D was not released.

It should've been, since build was already released... or was that lost along with the source to setup.exe?

It doesn't MATTER. The changes to Build (editor) were fairly trivial and could easily be reinserted. The setup program isn't even worth meantioning - any competent programmer could easily make a replacement.

I just use the offical build program now, If I wanna play Duke 3D or Build, I've got Windows 98SE as a secondary operating system for it, I suggest you all do it - It's good for all MS-DOS games and if you need to preform system backup taks.
