Nothing. Almost everything is a damn sequel or a remake of an earlier film or idea.

Hollywood, you're dead. And you've been dying for years.

Exactly what I was going to post. I'm not expecting anything original from Hollywood, and when that happens by some miracle, I go see it.

I'm surprised anyone has heard of this film. It was made about 15 minutes away from where I live. The director went to my high school (so did the director of Napolean Dynamite).

Have you seen Balderson's first movie, Pep Squad? If so, what did you think of it?

I'll just list what I'm looking forward to the most right now...

King Kong! Can't wait for this one.
Superman Returns
X-Men 3
Serenity
Casino Royale
Spider-Man 3 (Only this "low" because its release date so far off right now. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

I'm also cautiously optimistic about the Doom movie.

Oh yeah, Pixar's new film... Cars, it looks very kick ass.

Plus, thanks Nacho, I new the title of the cartoon film was something like that.

I also pray for a new Evil Dead film. But as long as Raimi keeps doing Spider-Man, no chance. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I think it comes from working in a video store. I used to like popcorn flicks but thats before I had to spend my saturdays scanning hundreds of copies of Troy and AvP (store-wide weekly inventories since we get lifted so much) to make sure we weren't getting ripped off by the useless *******s who, for the most part, refuse to watch a movie with subtitles because the text is too fast. I think I might have taken my anger out on some of you guys as opposed to the countless overwieght double gulp drinking cum suckers who fill my store.

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
I hope this movie never sees the light of day. IMO, the Die Hard trilogy is one of the few series where each movie is better than the previous (with the exception of the first one of course http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) Die Hard With A Vengeance is one of my favourite movies, and I'd rather see the series end on a high note.

I loved the first one, liked the second one a lot and hated the third one. The third one was too hollywoodish for my taste! So hope that Die Hard 4 will make up for that http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (whenever it gets out on DVD)
Spiderman 3 (may as well since I saw 1 and 2 and they were ok)
Final Fantasy: Advent Children
Pirates of the Caribbean 2
Battle Angel

I need to get a new Oldboy DVD too. The one I have is a very basic all regions DVD with no extras or anything. During playback it also always freezes at the same spot in the movie, which interestingly enough is the exact second Daesu grabs and squeezes the guys balls after duct taping him to his office chair. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif

Get yourself the Oldboy: Remastered Final Edition + 20 Page Booklet (http://www.dvdasian.com/cgi-bin/dvdasian/18348.html)
If your dvd player doesn't play region 3, then getting a region free dvd player is worth it for this movie.
My Oldboy dvd is my most cherished item in my dvd collection. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Also, I am satisfied to see that a handful of people are eager to see Sympathy For Lady Vengeance. Good job guys.

The director, Park Chan-Wook, is working on a revenge trilogy. Oldboy is the second movie of this trilogy. (The first one was Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and the third and final installment is Sympathy For Lady Vengeance (not out, yet)).

All these movie are independent from each other, they only share a common theme: they revolve around revenge at a very personal level.

I don't want to reveal any plot so that the movie can truly punch into you the full effect it delivers... if you end up watching it that is. If you don't, well then you're really missing out on something http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Do you watch foreign cinema or not? If not, then this movie will blow your mind and free you from hollywood garbage. The grass is greener elsewhere.

Yeah, Oldboy is the most amazing movie I have seen in a long time. It also is my most prized posession in my DVD collection.

The basic plot is about a guy who gets kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years. He doesn't know who did it or why. After 15 years he is released and has 5 days to find out who did it, and why.

Sounds basic, but trust us all, it is far from basic. The cinematography is amazing, some of the best directing I've seen in a while, and Choi Min-sik gives an amazing powerhouse performance.

I am eagerly awaiting the Vengeance Trilogy Boxset.

I think the DTS 20 page Final Edition is pretty pointless unless you can read/understand Korean. Otherwise just get the Tartan Asia Extreme release. The video transfer is just as good and has all the audio tracks from the Final Edition. Granted the special features aren't nearly as nice, but like I said: If you can't understand Korean then it doesn't really matter.

Since I can understand most of it, I LOVE my Region 3 version.

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say "it'll make you forget about hollywood garbage". I think hollywood is still making some decent movies. Although, I am really into Korean cinema right now. The best movies I've seen this year are all Korean, but Hollywood has still given some good stuff to me.
