In certain spots on my monitor it will randomly start "twitching" its weird, but not annoying...wtf?
Like horizontal lines moving very fast down the screen (@75 Hz, for example)? That's your vertical refresh rate. Turn it up to at least 85 Hz.

its like moving around a little. It doesnt do it ALL the time, but it pops up atleast every 30-40 minutes for maybe 2 or 3 minutes.
What type of monitor do you have? Are these fuzzy things colored when they are moving. For example, if you get a red, green, or blue on a CRT monitor that won't go away, then you need to replace the VGA cable.

I dont know. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif
But there is no miscolorations, it just jiggles. BUT, I noticed 99.9% of the time, it does it when I play HL.

Could also be an electrical interference. Maybe some speakers or radio or TV or somesuch. Try moving things around.

Fans will also cause this. Of course, it's also entirely possible that the monitor is just taking a dump and is on its way out...

What do you have next to your monitor? Look for anything with a transformer, magnet or motor. Try moving it away or switching it off.

the only "other" thing is my DSL box. I doubt its interferance. Though - I think TX might be right - it is 4 years old. But its working - so I cant complain. It hasnt done it since yesterday though.

My current CRT was built in 1999 and works perfectly.
They still don't make 'em like they used to, though. I've got a spare monitor from 1990 that works perfectly to this day, abeit with the limited resolutions that it was built to support.

I had a refurbished 21" monitor from a company and that lasted me a year and a half before the red channel cut out. It still worked perfectly... though it made playing games difficult.....

Mine was made in 1996. It is on its last legs, though. Sometimes the screen fades to black, stays that way for some time then becomes clear again. Very annoying, especially during gaming. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tinyted.gif

Was that by any chance a Compaq monitor? I have a 15" that's green, but it still works.

No, i can't remember the make, but it wasn't one i'd heard of before i bought it. Can't complain as it only cost me £90 in 1999. Not bad really. Big though.... had to have a separate desk behind my real desk and roof joists just to support it. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
