Breath taking.
I think that's the right word for this demo/game.
Unlike many fellow gamers, I had never heard, muchless played, the game 'Ico'. So, I went into the game totally blind.
I'm happy to report that if the demo is ANYTHING at all like the actual game, it will proove to be one of the most innovative games of all time. The sheer size alone of the demo is amazing. Imagine, the demo itself, is one of the biggest game worlds, I've ever seen. (Note: If you pick up this months OPM, you'll see what I mean. Oh, and don't limit yourself, explore the land!)
The story is simple enough. A young man's beautiful girlfriend is killed. So, in order to bring her back, he must hunt down 16 collosi. Simple, yes? NO. Far from it.
Lemme give you simple idea of what a colossus looks like (Keep in mind each of the 16 are extremely varied in shapes and styles.)

In the immortal words of Deuce Bigalow....
THAT'S A HUGE BITCH!!!!!!
Yes folks, they rerally are that big. 16 of em. Good luck.
The demo explores the first collosi, the minitaur. Now, before you go off on me stating minitaurs aren't gigantic, big maybe, but not massive liek that beast above. These aren't your usual beats. They are 'statue'-style creatures. You'll see. Anyway, you get your first in game glimpse of one at the top of a mountain. In all it spectacular sight, it look amazing, to say the least.
Now to take it down.
I don't want to spoil it for you, but it's very cool how you have to take these beasts down.
Now, an iffy side to all this hype.
Supposedly, there is only 16 monsters. That's it. As in, if you go in the water, sharks won't attack you, and orcs and such will be out in the plains.
Basically there will only be 16 enemies in the game.
Now, how well this holds up in game is yet to be seen.
BUT GODDAMN! IT LOOKS AMAZING!
Easily one of the coolest looking games I've ever seen, it even rivals many of the xbox 360 and ps3 games.
I can't wait.
