Hey Fellas.

I wanna avoid more bulky molex connectors for my fans, but I only have one 12V 3 pin connector on my motherboard. Can those be branched to power two fans? Additionally, I want some cold cathode action in mah case. Are they replaceable, and do they have a long life? Thanks in advance you mad ass modders.

(I haven't really ever needed to install any in my other machines, and I never had a board with the 12V fan connectors... Sad, huh? Post links to good stuff for me.)

For fun, let's see how many users have mods to their cases.

I'm surprised, most motherboards have three fan connectors, CPU(obviously), Power(Rear), and the Case(front), what motherboard is it?

The fan power may not be a problem, but you will only be able to monitor the RPM speed of one of the fans, and you will need to figure out the pinout (GND,+12V,RPM sense) and only allow the RPM of one of the fans be connected. (If that matters)

Most Cathodes will list their life, based on a Google check, Cathodes life can vary around 15,000 to 30,000 hours

anyway, I have a 120mm blue led case fan (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811999122) in the back of my case which provides plenty of airflow without being too noisy.

Well, the thing is I have like four or so of them.... They're occupied save one.

CPU, One exhaust beside the capacitors and CPU heatsink, one for the chipset, and that leaves only one free. I done some checking and yea... 15,000 hours for some UV lights. I'm thinking painting my case caution orange and installing some UV reactant cable wraps and fans.

After seeing how much space molex takes up, I value the 12V connectors on the board. I have the pin out for all the stuff, so no biggie. I just don't wanna draw too much juice from the board.
