What are your thoughts on this? Do you think he is the right actor to fulfill Bruce Campells role in the original?

Meh. He kind of looks the part but I doubt he has the attitude we've all come to love. I'm suspicious that this might be turned into another teeny-bopper remake...

I thought Ash wasn't supposed to be in it?

Where did you hear that from? And if it's true, I'm going to get out the chainsaw in the garage.

There was really nothing special about the way Campbell acted in the original. Kutcher will probably do fine. I don't see the need to remake this movie, though.

Bruce Campbell came into his own in the second film... and the third one http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Why not just make a sequel, or would that conflict with the video games?

Hmm yet another franchise heading for the toilet.

This is f*cking terrible news. Not only do I already hate Aston Kutcher, but now he is going to bastardize one of the greatest characters ever. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Why can't they just leave Evil Dead alone? Come up with something new! Evil Dead's charm came fomr it's low budget look, the campy effects, acting, and storyline.
A remake today would kill the charm.
IMHO this is a terrible idea. Both in casting and for the fact it's a remake.

Common rumor, and it was started by the big guys ( http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif ) and they have stated before, they love to joke about Kutcher.

This whole Ashton Kutcher thing is just another fake IMDB user submission. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I'm almost definite I read an interview a while back stating that Ash wouldn't be in this remake at all anyway. I don't really mind at this point though, since I'm pretty much completely uninterested in a supposed "Evil Dead" movie that isn't directed by Sam Raimi and starring Bruce.

You guys shouldn't really be suprised. Hollywood ran outta ideas a long time ago and is now raping the classics even more. Anything for the almighty dollar, to destroy a cult classic is nothing to them. NOTHING.

I need someone to tell me the exact order of the Evil Dead movies so I can watch them all correctly. There are different DVD versions I don't know which ones to purchase.
As for Kutcher... don't care either way.

Evil Dead
Evil Dead 2 : Dead by dawn
Army of Darkness
That's the order. Number 2 is a remake of number one of sorts (set in the same Cabin, though it's just as if Ash doesn't remember the events of the first one http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

Within the woods, The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2: Dead by dawn, Bruce Campbell versus the Army of darkness.
Best way to get em all I think is the anchor bay trilogy boxset. (no within the woods. never been officially released)
