I just finished constructing an old P200 which I use strickly as a DOS machine. Although I've found most of the drivers for the different components, I have yet to find the Glide drivers for DOS. If anybody has these drivers or knows where I can get them, I'd be quite grateful.

I really know nothing about 3dfx but this site poped up a minute before I saw your post (I was searching for 3DAnalyzer).. I see some drivers at the bottom of the page - hope this will help.

Which Voodoo card are you talking about? Voodoo 2? Banshee? Voodoo 3?

Give this site (http://www.voodoofiles.com/category.asp?x=13) a try.

Silly me. It's a 12mb Voodoo 2. Funny thing is that I have the original driver CD but it lacks the Glide drivers for DOS.

I don't remember having to load and DOS drivers for any video card. Some games required VESA drivers, but they were generic and not tied to any specific card.

This was one of the big things with Win95. Developers no longer had to write in their own support for video and sound cards. Of course most games were running in 320x200 with 256 colors, so developers only had to support that resolution and life was good.

I think Shadow Warrior had a 3dfx patch, even though it was a DOS game.

Yeah, a lot of 3D DOS games, such as Shadow Warrior and Descent had 3Dfx patches, both offical and unoffical.

There are no Glide drivers for DOS. That's all there is to it.

None of the DOS games work in 3Dfx. Some kind of file is missing but it goes so fast on the screen that I can barely read it.

If I remember correctly, installing the Windows 95/98 drivers also installed some sort of legacy DOS support. A few files under the Windows directory, and an INI file, either in the Windows directory or the root directory.

Addionally, you may have to enable/change some things in the Windows 95/98 property sheets to invoke this support.

If you can put Windows 95/98 on this computer, and your driver CD is from 1996-1998, you may be able to get this to work.

DOS support was dropped with the Voodoo 3 in 1999, so if your driver CD is 1999 or newer, you may be **** out of luck.

Way back in 1998 I was able to get the demo for Shadow Warrior to work on a Voodoo Graphics. Someone else was able to get it to work on a Voodoo II after enabling/changing something in the Windows 95/98 property sheets.
