My thoughts on Bone

Even though I had decided not to buy this game due to the horrible copy protection, I couldn't resist http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Anyway.. the game was both good and bad. The character animation was often very good except for the two women in the game (they were horribly modelled too).
The voice acting was also good except for those women again. And the music is what one would expect from an adventure game, it adds to the mood of the game.
The game has some big problems though... mainly the lack of puzzles... there are like 4 or 5 puzzles in the entire game, and they are some of the easiest puzzles I've ever done in an adventure game.
Also, there are too many mini-games.. I got the feeling I was playing Larry - Magma Cum Laude at times because of this.. and the main challenge in two of the minigames is the horrible control.
The game is also quite pricey.. $20 may not sound like much, but when it lasts for little more than two hours, that is a bit much.
Also, make sure you have an internet connection at all times before buying this as I could not make this game work at all without one.
And if you buy it, don't trust the unlocking instructions too much.. they were dead wrong for me, I had to go to the forums to find out how to do that.

Well, they give the game 2 out of 5 stars in difficulty rating themselves, they made this game very easy on purpose for some reason. Many people are complaining about this and also about the minigames and lenght of the game on their forums, and I hope they will fix quite a few things for the next Bone episode.

Yes, the compressed file is less than 100 mb.
It's about 180 megs or something when it's installed.
I just finished it again, and it's just extremely short and easy.

You are mistaken.

They only ban people who start unnecessary flame wars or idiotic rants.
Do that on any forum and it will happen to you.

They listen to the problem, the only thing is it's hard to filter through all the shit to help people who need it.

I can tell you haven't been hanging out on Steampowered a lot. It is far worse there than it is here.

I do frequent those boards quite a bit, and I don't find it to be any worse than here.

Most of those post are about people complaing about the same 7 problems over and over again.
Heaven forbid they use the search button.

I've seen well layed out posts criticizing Steam and they didn't lock the thread. I've seen people talk about how bad Steam is, and nothing.

I've only played the demo and it seemes quite fun. I tried to buy it, but it won't let me. The button to but it does nothing, aparantly it's because it's the old version. I'm not downloading another version on dial-up, seeing as I get about 70% done and I get disconnected. Then I try to resume but it won't resume.

They really need to re-think their distribution method.

There are plenty of comments like this :
"How should Valve be able to test this patch.. there are millions of users out there, it would be impossible for them to test it better"... which of course is nonsense. Most companies do NOT release such incredibly buggy patches.

But back on topic... the demo is what made me buy it too, but just know this - it does not get ANY harder anywhere in the game than the demo was. It's just very easy.

Well, that can't be helped.
But here is the million dollar question: Do the admins abuse their power, or is it members starting the flame war?

The members of course, that's what Avatar was talking about. But I have examples of admins acting silly too.. once an admin accused a guy of piracy and locked the thread before he had a chance to explain himself. And the problem he had has been experienced by other legal users, so it was a baseless assumption.
