Landed our first newspaper write-up! Nothing big or anything, but it'll go nicely with press-kits. As a result of this, one of the nicer indoor-venues in town wants to start booking us monthly, guaranteeing $250-$400 a show, with the guarantee of at least $250. Not a lot of money, but for 4 college guys in a band, this really helps us A LOT.

Check the sig if you want to hear some tunes.
Yeah, I've heard some of your stuff before, it's nice sounding. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
It's a nice thing you made it in the newspaper and good luck with these shows. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congrats, keep doing what you do! I'm trying to get my name out there too as I'm working on a one-man project.

You know, I must say i'm impressed. It's not at all what I expected.. most of the stuff that comes out now is shitty emo/screamo/numetal/poppunk bullshit. I like the sound, keep it up http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Made the paper again twice this week! Got a small mention about how we are apart of a Katrina Benefit Concert for the local TV station coming up. In yesterday's paper, we got a CD Review in the weekend Features section!!! I can't find them online though. Maybe I'll type out the review later. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif:)

BTW press releases are a good thing to do, you probably do them though. I submitted mine recently several sites:
http://i-newswire.com/
http://www.prfree.com
http://www.prweb.com
http://www.prleap.com
http://www.press-base.com
http://www.przoom.com
Note: one of these services (I think it was PRWeb) at one point asks you for a monetary contribution - it is NOT REQUIRED to submit and publish your press release. Their website just wasn't too clear on it as they practically shoved the contribution options in my face, and then I found the link to continue without any additional services payment.
Although I gotta hand it to these places for doing it for free - we oughta pony up a few $ sometime.
Here's my release, maybe use it as a template (although I'm sure there's better).
