My copy of duke nukem 3D has finally taken too much damage so i cant install duke nukem http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif (the worst night mare of Dukers every place).
Im interested in buying a copy off 3drealms, but first, i have some questions:
1. Is 1.3 included with the atomic edition?
2. is duke 1 & 2 registered versions still included with duke 3D?
3. will 3drealms ship it over to the UK (i dont mind footing for the bill)?
I can only tell you that.. 1.3 is not included with Atomic Edition http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif

you mean the original 3 episodes? yes.
atomic edition is just 4 episodes = the 3 original from 1.3 + 1 extra episode since the plutomium pack.
add a few bug fixes... so 1.5 (atomic) is definitely the version to get and you don't miss anything

not in version 1.5

How damaged is it? If you still want Duke1&2 try to grab them and put them on another CD

But 1.3 TCs (or whatever that has 1.3 CONs) will not work with Atomic Edition and vice versa, so you better get both.

Thats BS dude. 1.3d stuff works fine w/ 1.4/5, just not vice versa.

CD Check (http://www.softwarepatch.com/software/cd-recovery.html) might be able to recover the files for you. It's freeware.

Its on a compilation disc called "3d games" and so did not come with duke 1 & 2, but i was just interested because the proper duke 3d 1.3 came with them

Ok every one, dukes working. In the process of installation, its said it had an error. But when i went to the installation directory, only a file totally irrelevent to run Duke 3D was broken, other than that it works normally http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You can also try using Windows Explorer to copy the entire CD to your hard drive. Then, install the game from there.

If it's a copy protected CD, it will not work. I've even tried some of the so called 1 to 1 copy programs and they don't copy...copy protected CD's ether. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

What was the problem ? The CD-Check ? That is not in the newest version, grab it or a port.

Perhaps you can try to copy only the duke3d.grp from the CD and run it with a port.

I haven't installed Duke3d since 1997 after i realized that all you needed to do was copy the Duke3d files to another folder. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif
So then i figured seeings that you could not make an installable CD copy, i just copied all the files of an installed good clean folder to a CD an called it Duke3d original. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
So i've just been copying Duke3d from computer to computer for all these years.

It works with Eduke32. Im pretty sure. And even if it doesnt, Notepad can edit CONs for a reason.

Works with JFDuke3D as well, and maybe in Duke3d_w32.
