when reading "ss" I thought of nazi's SS..
duke and sam are blond you know.. and probably blue eyed?.. not sure about this one.. anyway, what if they are nazi?(america is the home of neo-nazi groups..so it would fit) http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
anyway..Duke could say that sam is nazi..politically this would greatly disturb the serious sam devs(if he isnt)

How about:

You walk past a locked door with a small slot to look through. You look inside and see some Pigcops interrogating someone who looks strangely like Serious Sam. A blond flat-top wig and a pair of Duke sunglasses are on the table.

Pigcop: "Impersonating Duke Nukem is a SERIOUS offense!"

Prisoner: "But-"

Pigcop blows prisoners head off with a shotgun.

One of the pigcops turns around and sees you looking in. He yells, and they turn around and kick the door open in your face.

-GUNFIGHT-

You walk into the empty room and Duke makes some smart-assed comment. Maybe there's health or something in the room.

difficult is the fact that duke is not on the pic..not the pic above in this thread..another pic in another thread that I can't find..where sam is in front of somekind of weird monster with a weird purple head..

Actually, that was my first thought when that name came up in the demo of SS2. I thought of George Broussard's name later when I saw that silly Gnaar in the game. (Note that in the amusementpark is also a Gnaar at the counter when Sam pays the entry-fee)

I like that Idea.. and there could be an uncontrollable "auto-shoot" for that character only.. like.. whereever you are looking at if you are close enough for sam to start talking , duke would automatically turn toward sam and shoot.. and then he would explode after one bullet of any gun in a incredibly ridiculous amount of blood and gore which would continue to flow after several second(kind of like evil dead)..

Some of you folks act like Croteam and 3dRealms have some kind of rivalry or they are somehow enemies.. I've never seen any evidence of this.. The Duke parodies in SS are simply them taking a friendly jab at 3DR.. sort of a nudge to the ribs.. at least that's my understanding of it.. You have to consider the fact that Duke and Sam are both the Egotistical Alpha male hero types so them talking smack about each other suits their personalities.. but I think its Croteams way of paying homage to D3D which being out of character for Sam... No, the next planet contains that reference to Duke, although there is at least one reference before it (blue guy that is waiting forever for that blondie to show up) and a reference in what the mages have been saying. It had the same humor (well, it tried anyway) as Duke and I always thought that they did Sam because they really liked Duke and they got sick of waiting for the next installment of Duke. I think the references are homeage, not ownage.
