This is something I have been thinking of doing for quiet a while now. Just a few things regarding remodelling and retextureing that I think we should decide on and I thought making a poll would be a good idea to see what peoples opinion is on the matter. Not saying we should just go with the result of the poll but it could be a good way to see what people think. I'll post my thoughts in a separate post.

It seems that I'm the second voter. If you're the first then I guess we're on the same line. Keeping it like Duke3D but use voxels when they appear to be better then MD3-models seem like a good direction.

I think we should go with same quality as in Duke since it will lead to similar system specs. Going with the same ratio (4x original) means the game will take up about 4 times as much memory as Duke (Download will be about 4 times bigger as well). And the last reason is that it will be tons more work doing 1024 textures then 512 and I am not sure everyone will even take advantage of the extra detail you can add on a 1024 texture.

Lets hear what you others think.

Edit: Yea that was me and it seems like we are on the same track http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

i say 4 times the original sw texture size. 2000 polys for models is plenty. And the voxels are blocky as hell, so i voted md3 all the way.

You want 1024x1024 texture size? I think a 512x512 is enough! You can show many details in 512x512 textures...
About the voxels I voted for:
Yes, but only in places voxels looks better then md3 models. (like some effects maybe)

Same as Duke. But for polycount MAYBE a little higher, and unless the MD2/3 is better than the voxel (Medkit for example), keep the voxel.

512 should be the maximum, although maybe Skyboxes could be 1024.
Although MD3 is better, I see Duke still throws many errors with MD3's whereas MD2's work everytime all the time http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
