A computer to play it with would be nice, I would think http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

After that in importance comes a computer which is good enough.

Also nice would be some good fitting music to listen to while play, I hope DNF has got a good soundtrack on the DVD, like Quake 2 did.

Kaiser, your forgetting the most important ingredient!

Ive played Doom3 through 4 or 5 times, and each time, its a *completely new* experience as if its the first time playing it! Its as if I got 4 or 5 awesome games for the price of 1. Almost makes that $450 video card seem worth it when its for 5 games instead of 1 http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

How? No, I'm not blessed with alzheimers (yet). I get really stoned before playing each time. I find it way more fun/scary/entertaining, with the huge added bonus that you dont remember any specifics so you can enjoy it again next time, and over and over. I dont recommend the use of drugs..but for those of you who already do.... mmmmmmboy http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You sure you wouldn't want a more powerful 5.1 system like the Logitech Z-5300s? They're mid-ranged, and won't break the bank. I have a set and they work great.

GambitMR
10-31-2005, 04:46 AM
don't buy the X530 surround set, it sucks.
not in terms of sound quallity , but in terms of shielding. The amp must be shielded pretty poorly .. since I get radio noise out of the speakers at evenings from around 6- 11 pm ...

hope I'm not to late

Geo-King
10-31-2005, 01:28 PM
They work %100 fine for me. Especially with DooM 3 and Sound Garden. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Do you live near a radio station? In that case you have to get an adapter that filters that interference out. Its most likely coming from your power lines. If you talk to the radio stations engineer he might just give you one. Or go to any electronic store. I think there only like $3-$5 dollars.

I agree, I have the Z-5300 surround sound system myself for about a year now and they're awesome o/\o

Geo-King

Z-5300s without tax and no warranty = CAD $299.95

X530 with tax and extended warranty = CAD $91

Having money leftover for school. Priceless.

You have to understand that my previous speakers were from the first desktop I ever got. So this is a very big jump in sound quality for me. I don’t think I need anything better. I am blasting TOOL right now and they sound great!

GambitMR

I'm from europe (germany) so I believe our electric cables should be shielded sufficiently enough ( stricter rules )

and no I don't live near a radio station ... and the radio "noise" I hear isn't german .. it varies from polish to french and sometimes italian :P

well .. maybe I can find that thing you mentioned and see if it helps
thanks for the tip http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
