A long time ago, 3D Realms used to have Reality is our game written under their 3D Realms logo. Would you like them to have this slogan in DNF?

No, because the Duke figure that 3DR is known for is a "larger-than-life" parodical character that doesn't fit the slogan at all.

"Reality is our game" would be suitable for a company that develops simulation games a la Falcon IV and Flight Simulator.

Actually it is more than part of Apogee, it is just another name for Apogee, the legal name is still Apogee Software, Ltd. They have 3D Realms Entertainment, Ltd set up as a so called, d/b/a (Doing Business As).

3DRealm = 3D = reality...
So the name itself makes this slogan fitting... Without refering to anything specific... (other than the name that is)

Duke is reality with a grain of salt. I mean, sure, aliens and mutated cops and a badass that can take multiple shotgun blasts isn't "reality," but the environments they're set in are made to be as close as possible. Isn't that where the whole "interactivity" part comes in? Personally, I always enjoyed the somewhat futuristic inner city feel of the first chapter in DN3D more than the other two chapters.

Sounds "Old". When the first 5 or so years of 3D games, there were a lot of "reality" slogans around. It just sounds old.

Everything about 3DRealms is old if you look at it that way, look at the release date of Duke Nukem 3D.
That doesn't mean they change everthing because they work over 10(+) years on a game.

I don't think the slogan refers to, or is supposed to indicate, the level of realism in their games. Still, X-Vector has a point.

I always sort of thought that "Reality is our game" could mean that actual real life reality is just a temporary "game" to the 3DR staff, since making and playing games in 3D worlds (or realms) is, in fact, 3DR's reality, since they do that stuff for a living all the time.

It's not "Old" because it's 3drealms. It's old because the word "reality" or similar words, were used so many times back when 3D gaming became the highest tech. Yes, the fact that the game was 3D made it such an evolved game, it was said to be unbelievably real, Slowly killing 2D... sad. Thus the reality slogans.

That's why it's old, you can just drop that line. 3Drelams is a good name, it's got marketing power, easy to remember and changing it would be worthless. 3Drealms built a name over the years, no need for a change and no need for that "reality" slogan.
