A true classic, loved by all, (actually, hated to death by most http://3drealms.3dportal.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif), has been retired. It has now gone the way of Star Trek Trivia. In short, this is an ex-game.
Anyway, I was wondering if owners can now have permission to freely distribute JL?

There have only been three games that we've released in our history that we don't excert any kind of copyright over (which means we don't care what you do with them).
These three are:
Jumpman Lives!
Trek Trivia
Star Trek: TNG Trivia
EVERYTHING ELSE is still commercial software and it's not legal to pass around or download.

I was thinking, you guys have all seen like "Williams Arcade Classics" for systems. And like the "Atari 2600 Archvie" for the PSX. Well why doesn't Apogee do that with it's classic games? It's alot harder to pirate cartiges and the games can reach wider range of gamers if it's on the n64/PSX. Just one thing, don't try to make the games look better. You'll only ruin the true game. =)

Is the commercial version of Jumpman available anywhere? I've rediscovered it and its great! Real simple, no complex plot. A great time-waster.

So let me get this straight, if I asked Wallace (BTW, is that your first or last name?) to EMail Jumpman to me, it would be totally legal? If that's a 'YES', then I think the ommercial version should be posted online. Also, why doesn't Apogee have the copyright on it?

cool, it's mine, too... maybe we're related... oh well, that's about it here... uhh... WAIT! No one answered that other question yet (hey Joe, you there?) If I asked Wallace to send me Jumpman, would there be anything wrong with that, or would it be perfectly fine to do?

Would someone please e-mail the full Jumpman lives to me, too? I have that game for my PC, Jr., and I miss it so much. Thanks.

Do they pester you with offers for family books, tartan quilts, and "official Clan Wallace" shirts, too? I appreciate that they're recognizing the historical importance, but I wish they wouldn't capitalize on our namesake like that! http://3drealms.3dportal.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif
PS: Sorry it took me forever, my comp was deader than Space Quest.
