I'm not sure when this happened but whever I try to enter Norton antivirus outside of safe mode now it starts Norton WMI update and then doesn't load up. The remove buttons are also gone from my add/remove programs. I've tryed scanning for viruses with norton in safe mode and I've used panda scan, nothing so far. What could this be?

Sounds fishy. Do you know you have a virus?

If you don't think you have a virus, I would recommend a reinstall of Norton.

Symantec Norton Removal Tool (http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039?Open&src=&docid=2001092114452606&nsf=nav.nsf&view=docid&dtype=&prod=&ver=&osv=&osv_lvl=) should remove the program from your system if you can't use Add/Remove Programs to remove it.

From past experiences when a customer cant pull up NAV or Add/Remove programs i would start by going to msconfig, disable just about everything except for Norton then reboot and see if it fixes it, if your not sure what to remove go to your task manager and start killing off tasks you dont recognize, and try again. If none of that works I would run and online scanner such as Panda Active Scan (http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm) or Trend micro (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/) , theres also Secure my Windows (http://www.securemywindows.com) , if none of those work i would guess your OS may have become corrupt.

Same thing happens over at my dad's place. I thought it was a bug in Windows or something.

Already tried all of those, didn't find anything. I can use NAV in safemode too and it doesn't find anything.
