I just thought up that neat little name while playing Command & Conquer the other day, sounds like someone could make a cool game with that style in mind... maybe I'll do that after I finish my other one (if I ever do). I decided to do it in DJGPP istead of Visual C++ for Windoze 3.1, and it takes quite a while to download things that are 13 megs on a 14.4 kbps modem. The code should port over fine if I edit it a bit (the original version was in a DOS box, but needed Windoze).

I found some source code that I might be able to work with for DJGPP with a C&C-style to it (except it was one person vs. a bunch of enemies). Oh well, that's all, have fun, die young (don't ask, I just thought that up a second ago).

It's been a long time since I had Win 3.1 and a 14.4 kbps modem! That was on the old PC and it was upgraded to Win 95 and a 33.6 kbps modem. It still sucked then! http://3drealms.3dportal.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

I still got an old computer and modem because I can't afford anything better, I use Win3.1 by choice, Windoze 95 is waaaaay (brace yourself) too slow on a 486/66 with 8 Whoppin' Megs of RAM. But at least it ensures that when I make a program, I won't get lazy and make the sloppiest source code known to man (unless Unreal has already fillled that spot).

The world needs more programmers who use slow computers, because it's harder to run things on them, making the games more reliable. There's a little hint to all you programmers at Apogee and any others who're reading this.
