It also has trolls and idiots. But the moderation is pretty efficient.

This thread is so meta. The forum itself is going to shatter the fourth wall with some kind of "I am god here" tirade.

I was just curious, from the looks of this forum and many others actually, it seems like most gamers listen to metal. Hmm.

Define metalheads, because when I think of metalheads I think of *******s who walk around mad at the world that they have so much money for black clothes, brushes for their disgusting long hair, and really loud headphones. If these are the people you mean, then no, I am not one of them. Maybe you instead mean the trendy sonsaguns who fill their iPods with Linkin Park. Still, not me. Maybe I'm the wrong person to ask.

Nu-metal bands trying to sound like they are more than poor musicians by referencing aliens or whatever just pisses me off. Others think gimmicks like odd time signatures/playing really fast/wearing all black and being swedish make them good. It does in fact not.
The rest of them are whiny bitches. There hasn't been a good metal song since like 1992.

***** all Metal bands. There is more drama in the world of metal than in the world of hip hop or pop, partly because they think they are different from those genre's. ***** them, ***** them.

But just to make it clear, while I don't like metal heads, nor do I think metal bands are very good musicians, I have a hard on for loud, fast drumming.

I have had your avatar as my display picture for quite a while. Oldboy is good.

And I listen to whatever too. I don't constrain myself to genres, that's just lame.

I can be listening to some 30 minute ambient song and then some loud short hardcore song and then some folky singer songwriter thing and then electronica and then rock and then whatever.

I find it's expensive, and I'll stick to a couple interests at a time.

and altough I listen to metal mostly, I'm not a metalhead (=> if you saw me walking on the street you wouldn't think at all I listen to metal)

I only listen to metal in games (Painkiller being a prime example), never in my day-to-day life, where I'm more a fan of rap, as well as "golden oldies" (1960s-80s music).

But I do like anime, so it still works! http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dopefish.gif

The only stuff I absolutely will not listen to is pop and country. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mryuck.gif

I like pop if it's indie pop. But mainstream pop I've heard is horrible to me.
And I don't like the whole "redneck pickup truck stick by your man and your gun and wait until he brings back roadkill for dinner" music.

Well, if you saw me on the street you'd probably know I listen to metal. But that doesen't mean I only listen to metal or that I wear only black clothes. Becase I don't. Usually the only black clothing I'm wearing are my bandshirsts. Some people say that wearing bandshirts is tacky and stupid and all that. Well, I dunno about that. The only kinda t-shirts I like to wear http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I don't like just plain one color shirts, they are boring. Neither do I like all that havaji stuff or some "United Colors Of Pay An Assmounds of Money Just To Wear A Lame Shirt" shirts http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif So bandshirts are a bit more lively and they say more than just "Hey, I have a shirt!" And I don't wear the ones with huge stupid pictures of the players or colorful pictures of dragons or anything. Because everybody instantly thinks about that when bandshirts are mentioned. I just use simple logoshirsts. The best.

And yeah, don't listen to all metal either. Indie pop, proge, classical to some extent, ambient, noise, neo-classical. Those are all my things.

Well I listen mostly death, doom metal and some oldschool hard core but I don't wear black so much. If you see me on the street you'll probably think that I'm a metalhead who just got kicked from the army http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Dude you've just said what I'm allways sying to everyone when they ask me about bandshirts. There is nothing more iritating than those "from Iron Maiden to Cradle of Filth" lame shirts with lots of colourful monsters. White logo on black shirt rules.

I have a manowar shirt with the big muscle guy on it..I love it.

Yeah, I play games and I listen to metal more than any other type of music, which is not to suggest I listen to it exclusivly.

But then, even if it did, I wouldn't care http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Personally I'm a gamer and a metalhead (as far as just liking the stuff). I'll wear a shirt of a band that I like but that's the extent of it. People who see me out on the streets probably couldn't guess what I listen to because I don't stick out in the crowd as anything special, I can settle for looking mediocre, though my musical tastes may be a shock to some of them.

I like some metal, but I'm not a metalhead.
I mostly like the distortion guitar,
but the screaming gets old fast.
But yeah, I'll listen to anything besides pop and country if it has a good tune.
My taste can range from Slipknot to Hoobastank.
The shit they play on the radio just gives me a headache.
My local radio station has the nerve to play a list called "3 songs that don't suck".
According to who? A pack of 10 year old girls??
They play such shit as Jessica Simpson, Nickelbacks latest annoyance (that photograph song. PLEASE MAKE IT DIE),
and some more talentless douchebags.
Greenday has a few DECENT songs,
but they really do play it way too much on the radio.

I listen to my own music often,
which is mostly metal guitar, hip hop drums, classical piano, and no vocals. Has a neat sound to it. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

While I loathe Nü-Metal with a passion, to say there's more drama than in the hip hop/rap world is rediculous. Modern rap music is founded on the principal of bitching about everything (to great lengths) and occasionally shooting a couple dozen people over it.

[Edit]: Oh yeah - ***** those ***** ***** ***** and ***** not to mention ***** and ***** also ***** with ***** and ***** covered ***** around ***** them ***** ***** all those ***** of ***** ***** stars ***** and ***** ***** ***** ***** *****.
