Cinco De Mayo & Cristmas On ROTT

If you set your CMOS setup date to May 5, and you run ROTT, then when it shows the group pic., the big guy with white hair will be wearing a sombrero. And if you set your CMOS setup date to Cristmas, then the white-haired guy will be wearing a cristmas hat. Anyone ever notice that?

Yes I have noticed. I didn't know you could set the date to do that. I thought you had to wait. If you set your CMOS to July 4 then the black guy will be holding a flag. And yes I did notice the guy that was wearing the hat. I wonder if their are any other suprises.

Do you actually have to go into CMOS or will just using the DATE command at the DOS C:\> work?

From the all-knowing ROTTFAQ:

1. Easter (date varies): Lorelei Ni wears Easter bunny ears

2. Cinco de Mayo (05/05): Ian wears a sombrero.

3. Independence Day (07/04): Doug holds an American flag.

4. Halloween (10/31): Thi wears a witch's hat.

5. Christmas (12/24 and 12/25): Taradino wears a Santa Claus hat; new music for the first level.

Also, there's a way to get all five "holiday hats" in Rise of the Triad to show up on the screen at the same time. If you finish the game the right way, and destroy all the larvae in the last level, watch ALL the credits (takes several minutes). You'll get to a screen that says "The HUNT is victorious. The End." Do nothing. Let it sit there for about a minute or two, and you'll get another "The End" screen where all five "holiday hats" are shown at once.

CMOS has nothing to do with it. Just set your regular system clock to that.
