Hello . . . A Pig Cop . . .

Well after visiting the forums for what feels like 10 years now, patiently waiting the release of DNF, I finally decided to register.

A few months back I modelled my favorite character from Duke3d, the pig cop. I got tired of waiting for the game, so I made my own I guess http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I agree with everyone else. It looks like you certainly know what you are doing when it comes to modeling, but you may not have captured the pig cop's true essence. I do however like that he is a bit "hammy" (pardon) looking, but agree that he doesn't threaten me. Nice job though.

In case nobody said this, because I haven't read the whole thread yet, the shirt should read: L.A.R.D. not L.A.P.D. There is a joke in there somewhere.

I just had a quick look on 3dmax's site and that software is really expensive.

Are there any other cheaper software packs that can do a similar thing??

Blender3D (http://www.blender.org/), an open-source 3D-modelling program, very liked by the modellers working on the HRP-pack for Duke3D.

But i don't know why, i prefer wild boar to be the pig cops. Not Pinky Pigs. wild boars look more agressive than a pinky pig, that's maybe why.

I have one of those, and I wish they do something like that model for DNF, I just can remember squares of it in Duke3D, but it was really cool with that transformation appearance and the red eyes.

It was a scan. It comes from a 7 (soon to be 8) year old Nintendo magazine I picked up one day for DN64, since it had him on the front. Has concept art for:

- Pig Cop
- Trooper head designs
- the Jetpack
- a large chainsaw called "Caterkillar" which they probably thought about putting in
- "Bad Cop", generally an enormous pig with a giant lead pipe and all of the Duke weapons chained together on his other arm.
- Megaboss (the last boss in DN3D)
- a helpless damsel
- Duke Nukem hanging wrestling with one of the Lizard opponents and firing his pistol at something else.

No problem. The artwork is damn good, so it's appropriate that everyone else is able to see it. He certainly put a lot of effort into it too. Name is a little misleading though. I reckon there should be different kinds of pig cop.

I mean, I know dn3d had the regular kind and the kind riding around in flying cars, but I'm talking about internal variety in enemy classes. Like, what if there were four of five different designs of standard pig cop implemented? They just look/sound/walk different, but carry the same weapons/armor etc?

Ahhh, you're right, sorry about that. The magazine had a design of the Overlord right next to the concept art drawing, and so ai mistook it to be a design for the final guy.
