I don't fully understand the Horadric Cube. Recently having tried this formula.

6 Perfect Gems (1 of each type) + 1 Amulet (Magic) = Prismatic Amulet Use this formula to create an Amulet with Resistance to all. ilvl = 50. The amulet will always have the Prismatic prefix (All Resistancs +16-20) and has a chance at getting a suffix as well.

Filled my Cube with the perfect gems, all of them. Put in a 1+ to assassin skills ami that I didn't need and presto, it didn't work. I tried a no level requirement ami and another 1+ ami and these didn't work. My character is a lvl 74 paladin, in hell. Do I need to level up more first? Do I need a higher-level ami. The ami's I tried were req'lvl 27 and a no requirements.

-------
question 2

I have Griswalds armor, given to me. It is socketed with magic find, which is nice but I have a hel rune and wish to unsocket it and put in something more usable like diamonds, for a higher attack ratting. Right now I consider this my best bet, my paladin has an attack rating of, 4600 and that goes to about 5500 with 100 to attack rating; I tested this. Three diamonds could reasonably give 6500 or more. Can anyone tell me if a higher attack rating means a better damage rating, in addition to the chance to hit variable? What do you recommended?

Some recipes change when there's an update. Also make sure you are using all perfect gems (skull included). Try an unidentified amulet.

And for question 2, you can;t unsocket items. Strength is what causes increase in damage. Attack rating is the speed I believe. Have to double check that one.

Next time, post this in the D2 topic.

I haven't bothered with an amulet like that although I will need to see if that one even works anymore.

For question 2, you can't unsocket something.

and 3, forget gems. runes are much better for socketing, assuming you can get one that gives the same bonus as a gem. Can easily get about 20%+ with some runes over a gem.

The only gems i even bother saving are perfect topaz.

Solved, was using a skull as one of the gems. I just tried the normal gems and it worked. I now have ami of 17 all defenses. To replace my low level, 1 to paladin offensive-auras.

I was thinking, 3 pul runes for 90% enhanced defence? Instead of 9000+ for my hit ratting, which is just my chance to hit. My current hit ratting is 7000, so 9000 or more would occure of I put three diamonds in there.

This one is topic specific. It's all good. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Very cool.

What is the exact recipe for it? 1 of each non-skull perfect gem plus magic amulet?

I was trying to dig up some information from diabloii.net, but it was like 1am in the morning when i checked and was getting cross-eyed. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif

Just reread and it looks like non-skull perfects. Does it work offline or do you need to have a ladder character?

Cassius

You have the formula correct.

I use an online not-open, non-ladder character. Unless I'm mistaken, forumla will work offline except the ones for the ladder only characters. I've never tried.

I'm having trouble equipping a bow on my Amazon, I got from quest in act1, she meets the requirements as best I understand; she’s a Amazon (Amazon only wep) she’s past level forty two, she has more than enough strength and dex. Does anyone know why I can’t put this bow on her? Is it a goof? Maybe the game thinks it’s a crossbow.

Lycander's Aim
Ceremonial Bow
Two-Hand Damage: (72-82) To (152-173) (112-127.5 Avg)
Required Level: 42
Required Strength: 73
Required Dexterity: 110
Base Weapon Speed: [10]
(Amazon Only)
+150-200% Enhanced Damage(varies)
Adds 25-50 Damage
20% Increased Attack Speed
+2 To Amazon Skill Levels
5-8% Mana Stolen Per Hit (varies)
+20 To Energy
+20 To Dexterity
+20% Enhanced Defense
+2 To Bow And Crossbow Skills (Amazon Only)
(Only Spawns In Patch 1.09 or later)

Gonna post quickly, but Amazons cannot equip xbows.

I will dig up the exact weps they cannot arm, but I want to say there is another one.

I think certain weps that "require" amazons for equipping are unequippable by an Amazon hireling. Go figure, so it could be that as well.

EDIT: just saw the "amazon Only tag"

Yeah, for whatever reason, they cannot equip an "amazon only" wep or an xbow. It's stupid, if you ask me. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

EDIT 2:

Here is a good page to read:

http://www.diabloii.net/townsfolk/mercs2.shtml

Notice on the top right there are more sections, but here is what is from that specific page:

Act 1: Rogue Scouts
Skill and Equipment List
Equipment Bows (not including crossbows)
Skills Inner Sight coupled with either Fire or Ice Arrows
Notes Amazon-only items may not be used by the Rogues

Technically, they are not considered Amazons, but Rogues. I still think it's stupid. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thank you, I may have to traid it or save it for an Amazon character. A friend said I may be able to get something nice like one 290 for it, he wasn't sure be he said he thought it was worth that. I could try to get something nice like Zakarum for it, he also listed that. Based on my comparison it's the third best unique bow, so unless someone really needs a better bow, I figure, I wont get something very valuable for it.

For me one ber rune would be a good deal for it, I could put it in my sword. My sword can take six sockets (five stones to be found or traded for), so it's three to attack useing stuff like ber rune and three to speed. I have a 25% to dammage jewel that I could socket, does anyone know the best a jewel can get for this? 50% to dammage, maybe? If so I'll traid it and wait.

My account doesn't exist anymore. I was disconnected for a minute, this happens a few times an hour, and when I tried to log back in it says that account doesn't exist. WTF, I've been playing fairly with it for weeks. Anyone every had this happen to them?

The main reason I don't play on battlenet, but if I were to guess, it may be that you were not playing for 2 full hours in a 48 hour period when you first logged in. Also they delete you if you don't log in for a few months, I think.

I will dig up the jewel specs.

It's strange the account is back up. My best friend said it would be, he a guroo. Not certain why and I don't really care, just happy I didn't lose my stuff. I may not have played again for months.

Thanks for the info, now I know that 50% dammage is the best there is. Another question, if you guys don't mind. How does the rarity of the soj ring compare to other unique rings, it's hightly valued but is it more rare? I ask because a friend I made a few weeks ago said he'd give me one since I've helped him so much.

Nacho

I'd take the ring. I won't comment on its goodness. I never had one, wait...hmmm. I might have. I knew my friend did. This was a few years ago though so it might not be as good.

Note: Take anything for free.

http://diabloii.net/ Excellent site and it covers all of the items, sets, uniques, etc., even from previous versions.

At any rate, here is what you are looking for:

http://www.diabloii.net/items/uniques/armor-rings.shtml

CD2 Rarity: 32.3/1000
D2X Rarity: 18.9/1000

Obviously, out of 1000 drops you would expect to get it 18.9 times. Of course, you should fight monsters that drop rings or uniques, like bosses. I hear the Act 1 boss is really good for ring drops, as are any of the Gloams and other spectre/ghost like characters that are quite popular around Act 4.

Also, playing with the Players 7 option will increase your odds of a good drop.

It's supposedly extremely rare to get now. I have only gotten a few lower level uniques. Although, I have a few Nagel and Manalds, but I don't recall actually winning them. My pal gave most of them to me and they were probably obtained pre-patch, and by that I mean like around 1.07 or so, when it was much easier to get them.

You are probably better off making a temporary install of a 1.07 version unpatched and just get a couple of rings from there and then later trade them to your newer guys.

I just traded the hwanin weapon for a six second 176 poison charm. My only real good online friend says I should trade it for a soj and not enigma. If I can I'm gonna get steelclash and enigma for it, or I may just keep it for duels. Does anyone suggest a good armor or best trade for something like this, think paladin only. The enigma will allow me to teleport mid battle and ram a person from different sides; I think it should work like that. Another idea is find someone with Zakarum and Enigma that needs poison, I'd be almost golden in hell with the extra resistances from Zakarum; right now I'm stuck in act 2.

I don't wanna get rid of my current gris armor but a friend is in debt in the game and he owes that armor, so enigma or some armor is a must in this trade. I owe him one anyway for finding my lightsabre.

Does anyone know the max sockets for the axe "Razor's Edge Tomahawk," it only takes up three inventory slots so can it go up to six sockets like a sword?

Wamplet

http://www.diabloii.net/items/uniques/weapons_axes-elite.shtml

It doesn't show as being socketed, at least when it spawns. I don't know if the socket quest will let you socket a unique, but if it does, it will only give you 1.

I will look it up real quick and put the results in here.

AHhhh, found it:

http://www.diabloii.net/quests/act-five.shtml

Sockets added:

Normal Items - From 1-6, the max allowed for that particular item. Check our Items section for the exact number for every type of armor and weapon.

Magical Items - One or two sockets. In the beta they could get up to three, but this was turned down as Bliz felt it was overpowered.

Rare/Set/Unique/Crafted Items - One socket only. (Crafted get up to 3 in the beta, but this is a bug that will be fixed.)

No Sockets Added - RuneWord items, items that have already been socketed, item types that can't have sockets added at all.

Looks like only 1 socket in a unique.

That's strange, thanks.
