I felt this subject needed to be brought up again. I would really like to have erott. I tried ordering it last year (not knowing it was discontinued from Apogee) but they said it was no longer available. I never even got a chance to play it. It sounded so fun too. Joe please re-release Erott for the desperate people asking for it to be available again.

I'm afraid Uncle Duke is right. And don't bother asking Joe, as it's a "management decision", meaning you have to ask George or Scott.
But still, boohoohoo, it's not fair. http://3drealms.3dportal.com/ubb/images/icons/frown.gif

<sigh> OK Joe possibly might not like me doing this, but here's where I got E ROTT. www.thepricesright.com (http://www.thepricesright.com) . Its been a while since I ordered it, so they probably might not have it anymore. You can try if you want.

Yeah, if you look hard enough, you might find a copy of it somewhere. Just because Apogee discontinued EROTT doesn't mean there isn't at least one copy of it sitting around in some warehouse somewhere..

I checked, and yeah, it's still there - for $15.

Keep in mind that the full Erott package (in retail) also came with a copy of the ROTT strategy & hints guide, which is very much out of print and really hard to find.
I'd be surprised if they sent the full retail box copy of EROTT.

You won't be surprised. All they send when this is ordered (as if this isn't good, ROTT is a great game) is two jewel cases, one with the ROTT cd, one with the ROTT Extreme CD. The cover paper and back paper are in the case for ROTT, but there's nothing with the case for Extrme ROTT

Yeah, it was a lot of fun. Tom and I did (in our own opinion) far better work in EROTT than in the original ROTT. My favourite level that I did was "A Boulder Vision". I did 15 levels, and I had a lot of fun, but that one had some tricks that no one had ever thought of before. There were a lot of boulder tricks - including I figured out how to make boulders fly through the air.

There never was. However, I'd be curious to know what color the CD label was. Was it blackish or red/blue?

Yes, I mean the color of the label that's on the CD itself.

You have the one that was printed by Formgen for retail. That's not the one we sold directly. The contents of the CD are exactly the same, but the other label is prettier, I think.
Shown here is a scan I just made of my archive copy of Extreme ROTT (the version we sold direct from Apogee for awhile).

I sure you've got 100's of people asking why Erott was dicontinued. Now I'm asking. Why?

When we ran out of stock, management decided that since it wasn't selling well enough, it didn't warrant us re-printing them to continue selling them.
I've tried to get them to let me legally release it for free, but they don't want me to do that, either.
As it stands, my work on this game is on hold <grumble, grumble>.
