Hi!
This is my first post on these boards even though i tried registering when i first came here many MANY years ago. It just would'nt work for me, and after several tries I gave up.
Ever since I've just been reading posts instead.

I was a huge DN3D fan back in the day, and I was SO looking foward to DNF ever since I heard about it back in 1998-1999 i think.

But as the years went by, my urge for the game (or for any videogame for that matter) slowly disappeared.
I so wanted to enjoy DNF as much as I did with DN3D, but It never showed up.

Maybe I just grew up, I don't know, but I no longer wait for DNF and dont think I will ever get to really enjoy it like I wanted. I'm just really sad and I think its a shame that i didn't get to experience this game whilst in my prime..
Have I become too old for Duke?

Just had to get it of my chest.. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hhg.gif

Anyone else in the same boat as me?

PS: sorry if the english isn't perfect,
not my native tounge.

No. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif You are only to old for Duke when you are dead, and even then you might be able to stay a ghost in order to play it. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, I won't lie to you, DNF was announced many years ago so... well I don't know whether "old" is the right word, but we are all definitely older http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I understand what you mean, I used to play a lot, but nowadays... I almost don't play new games, though there are exceptions...
But I rather spend my time playing some classics like... Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, recently I got my hands on Interstate 76 (but I couldnt even instal it on my XP system, so I have to get some old machine with W98 http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif )
I don't say there are no quality games nowadays, but I think they are quite rare...
I just hope DNF will be... Duke... "just" Duke...

Hell, I'm over 50 and still enjoy many, many computer games. Got started back in the 80s with a kit built computer and have had computers around me since.

The only thing I'm too old for is being a web admin for a Prey fansite http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Loved Duke Nukem 3D when it first came out and am looking forward to DNF.

I've yet to get bored with games, especially old-school games like Doom and Duke, and ESPECIALLY shmup games (Gardius V FTW!)
But of course, my interest in some game genres have dwindled, but that's to be expected when you get older. the more mature you get, the more refined your taste in specific things become. Just have to deal with it is all you can do. 'tis sad, but the truth.

Don't be silly. Men never grow up. None of us do. Women put on an act by always doing whatever the current fashion demands. They're more or less conformists. While we on the other hand will play video games till we're blind and tell anyone who opposes our behavior to eat shit and die.

err... that's not quite what I meant. what I'm saying is that some things you will never get tired of *coughbigcorecough* and there will be some things you will grow out of.
Duke is just one of those things that doesn't lose it's appeal, because the humor and fun factor is somewhat universal to most age groups.
