New Wolfenstein 3D?

Looks like the cats outta the bag. Generations closing, BJ sketch that id doesn't want posted, and now ex-Xatrix guys report that they will be working on Return to Castle Wolfenstein using the Quake 3 engine. I think we've been waiting for this news. =)

1) There's no "Castle Wolfenstein". It's Wolfenstein 3D. ARRRRRRGH!

2) This rumour has popped up in several forms over the last few years, any time any new engine turns up. I know of no plans for this being done (even in secret that i'm not allowed to talk about).

Um, so the new game can't be called Return to Castle Wolfenstein? It's the title I got off the news. That's 'reportedly' what Drew (what's his face at Xatrix) said. I didn't say Wolfenstein 3D's name was Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

It's like this--B.J. could take Flynn Taggart, Skippy, and the Quake II Marine in a pinch. Maybe Duke--nah, they'd probably team up. Hey, wouldn't that be cool? Through some freak time portal, B.J. and Duke take on Hitler . . .

I don't know, though. The DooM guy's pretty tough. The Quake guys though--nah. They've never wasted Hitler or been to Hell and back.

UD has an idea for a TC that wouldn't be legal, ever: Duke and the DooM guy get together and waste aliens in Hell.

Nope, Castle Wolfenstein is the very first and was made for the Apple //. There's Castle Wolfenstein and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein. Then Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny. And in Wolf3D your escape from 'Castle Wolfenstein'. Again I guess. Hehehehehe.

Also, these may be 100% rumors, or 100% true, I'll wait it out b4 I argue.

What's correct? That it's a rumor OR that it's true?

As far as I'm conserned it's a rumor. id Software's next title might be a Telituby game or it can be a new Wolfenstein game. I'm not going to yell Wolf until id says there's a new Wolfenstein.

Now that I think about it I kinda did....
