Judging by the screenshots, it appears the Half-Life 1 engine can do dark just as well as the Doom 3 engine. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Please guys, dont spoil the fun by watching the screenshots. Those screenshots aren't worth what this mod holds.
Satan guarantees you'll crap a pant or two. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

It tries as hard as it can to be scary, but frankly, HL1 can scary you only with crappy graphics. It could've been much scarier if it was a TC for HL2. Sometimes it's annoying as hell, not scary. Sorry, but I didn't crap my pants.

You graphics whore, I was talking about the gameplay, not the wonders of the engine. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm not a graphics whore.
Fine. The gameplay's annoying. Is that what you wanted to hear?

Pretty good, I only played the training map and the first bit of the actual mod though. Still quite good. Inspired by Jacob's Ladder and Silent Hill.

I doubt that. But at least if HL2 (or HL1 for that sake, almost the same http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif) was darker we would not notice the terrible shadowing as much http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Anyway, that mod looks pretty cool, I'll try it out.. but if I crap my pants, Satan will have to buy me a new pair! http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Finished it. Annoying at times, and not too scary, but it had atmosphere - undoubtably.

Once I finish the Ravenholm mod for HL2, I'll have to look into the Hidden: Source.

No it isn't. HEES CRAZEEE.
Its a DM mod where one player is a invisible-ish guy that needs to kill the rest of the guys, either by slicing them up or blowing them up. Its pretty fun, though sometimes frustrating.

Strictly multiplayer. However the tutorial is singleplayer and short yet it was very good.
It's like the game Alien Vs Predator. The Hidden is like the Alien, he can climb walls (He's also partially invisible and can pin people to walls with knives). The rest play as marines trying to kill the player who's the hidden.
