There is no such a thing as that, not official, anyway.

Was it necessary? Yeah, I can see it now:

"Hot tip: press Alt to jump."

It could tell you how to do the Impossible Pogo Trick, where the secrets items and secret levels are, and how to kill some of the stranger enemies. There's LOTS more to Keen than pressing ALT to jump!

Seems to me that most of that stuff (impossible pogo trick, etc) is covered in the in-game help file. And for everything else, there's Geoff's site http://3drealms.3dportal.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif.

Hey, I havn't been here in a LONG time...
anyway, strategy guides are usually a waste of money, since you can learn anything you need to know about a game off the internet.

How many of you were on the Internet in 1990/1991 when Keen was out? The Web didn't even exist then!

There were hint sheets that shipped with the games, and when we stopped shipping actual printed sheets in 1994, I had converted them to hint files on the disks. The gg-hint.exe file is a computerized version of the Keen Galaxy hint sheet we used to ship with the game. I believe there's a ck-hint.exe file for Keens 1-3.

Anyways the Wolfenstein 3D Hint Book was the first and last hint book id Software wrote.

Unless John Romero's memory is in error he and Tom Hall made the Wolf3D hint book, and it was the only one id Software made.

Becuase there are 'offical' guides for id games, just not writen by anyone at id.

Actually they also made a Spear of Destiny hint book, either that or someone made it for them, since I have it, so that's proof that it exists.

I'm fairly sure FormGen did that on their own, but I'd have to dig a copy out of the archives to find out for sure. Haven't looked at that in a few years.
