Valve chose not to give the console out-of-the-box(ok, you could edit the start parameters to get it work but..) with HL2.
Will Duke Nukem Forever have console? Say, modify controls, fov and such things. It is not _that_ important feature, but yet quite handy. If so, will it have automatic filling, like open console -> write "cg_auto " -> press tab -> cycle trough possible alternatives.
I am not sure if this has been covered somewhere in here, tried to search but no results.

You'll have to kick a hole in the top of the screen, then it'll pop down...
And to remove it, kick it back up... http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Yes, i know... I wish it was true... http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hhg.gif

What do you mean it wasn't there out-of-the-box? It certainly was. Anyone who had any business with a console wouldn't have a prompt adding -console to the game parameters.
There is little to even suggest that there will not be an accessible command prompt in DNF.

I hope they do as long as there aren't features available that can interfer with MP games. Like the old Quake2 games where people were able to make little scripts for things like being able to hit 1 button and have their guy aim down at the right angle and fire for a near perfect rocket jump to throw themselves over walls, and things like that.

I'd agree that scripted rocket jumping sucked, the difference being with things like weapon selection and team message binds. I hope that somewhere along the lines there will be an option that you can have weapons selection bound to things like mouse up/down. By that I mean multiple weapons selection. e.g. in Q2 I had a bind that would auto select 'shooting' weapons i.e. shotgun, chaingun etc. for mouse up or down, and one that would select 'explosive' weapons, i.e. grenades, rockets, grenade launcher. This is something I'd like to se within game options a LOT more. It can't be that difficult to set up something that gives multple options for a selection of weapons if it can be set up by a bind. I don't know if this has been covered elsewhere, but it is the sort of feature that most half serious gamers would really appreciate, so how about it George? http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yes, HL2 had it "out-of-the-box" but you would have to edit the start parameters. You could not bind it from the control setup and such. That is what I mean by that.
