Anybody aware of the current status of Team Fortress 2?? Is it still in production? Last I heard of it was an official announcement from Valve during an interview back in April 2005 on Half Life 2 Aftermath. "Valve recently revealed (Q2 2005) that information on TF2 would come shortly when being interviewed on their upcoming Half-Life 2 expansion pack Aftermath. As of Q3 2005, no new information regarding TF2 has been officially released other than that it is being developed on Valve's Source engine." Of course Half Life 2 Aftermath was scheduled to be released last year but as usual Valve cannot keep dates. Maybe after it's release in April, or maybe in May during E3 we will hear more of it. Any additional information to elighten the situation with TF2?

Yea, it's pretty much a total mystery. Even more so than DNF.

I would buy Team Fortress 2, it is still supposedly in production. It was originally planned for the Half-Life 1 engine but after they started work on HL2 all worked stopped on TF2 until after HL2 was completed.

Kind of.
The TF2 team saw early builds of the Source engine and prefered to develop it in that engine, atlhough they were pretty far in the development process on the old engine.

That was not my understanding.
What we saw of TF2 was just what the development team threw together ( sort of like we saw with duke on the quake engine ).

Maybe I exagerated abit with the development being far off.
But they did have something playable.

I remember reading about TF2 in the same magazine as DNF back in like 98 or whatever. The idea blew my socks off. I totally forgot i was looking foreward to this game but at the same time, i'm glad i forgot since i'm tired of waiting for games. I just play what's out.

Well I played TFC more than anything else while I was in Junior high and early highschool. I am still looking forward to its sucessor. TF2 is probably the only game that I would upgrade my computer to play at this point... even if it is just a rehash of the original.

TF on the Source engine. One of the more popular and fast-moving HL2 mods.

Well its still in an internal alpha...
I've known about it for a while, but never kept my self updated. It looks like they are going along pretty good.
