I'm not really interested in getting one, and I know they're grossly expensive (at least the high-quality ones) however the whole idea sounds interesting. I've seen ads for these projection devices that take the onscreen image (like a movie, or in my interest console/PC games) and project it on a wall.. kinda like a pseudo big screen TV.
(If you're not sure what i'm talking about, think of those overhead projectors they use at schools where they put a piece of clear plastic on the top and write notes, assignments on it, etc.)
Does anyone know what i'm talking about?
Here's a link to one I found from a quick search on google (http://store.videogamecentral.com/gaprcwgasyme.html)
I was just wondering what kind of quality these things give out.

There's a place where you can find a whole home theater bundle, with the projector and the screen all in one package for about the same price a 32" LCD would cost... Here's my finding, a whole page worth of different bundles, and I do see a screen here as well: http://www.shopathometv.com/catalog/thum...CategoryId=1210 (http://www.shopathometv.com/catalog/thumbnail.jsp?N=1101497&categoryId=2489&pCategoryId=1379&gpCategoryId=1210)
Should be worth looking at... Seems interesting to me.

We have about 6 projectors at work and it's definitely possible. I think most of the ones we bought are between 1500 and 2k gold.
I think the lamps/bulbs are around 400 gold, but they last quite a while. I think I have only had to replace the bulb on 2 of them in my 6 years there. Of course they are not on all day like a computer or tv, but they are in constant use for an hour or 2, several times a week. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Can't say I have loaded any games on them though, but we have played video demonstrations and such and they seem fine. We even projected from a tv, which was rather dumb, just because the tv was just a tad smaller than the projection screen, but it worked fine. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif

Ah this reminds me, back in high school. In Geography class we were learning about Middle Eastern terrain, such as Iran. I thought "hey, theres a projector screen in the drafting room... I could install F-22 Raptor and fly around and show the terrain".
So I asked my teacher about it, and the class went to the drafting room as I whipped missiles up tailpipes of bogies and flew around the terrain showing outside and missile-cam views http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
But uh, my teacher was all "ok so explain what we're seeing, explain the geography" and I'm like "uhhhh..." http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif It was pretty cool to see it on a big screen.

Brightness Uniformity: 75%
Resolution: 480 x 234
Best Display Size: 48 inches
Pretty crap.

A decent projector is about $1000, good one about $1500+.
