Give thanks to ADM for the skin work. A lot of what made this skin what it is he did, so if you like it, make sure and thank him. He's been a lot of help on the forums lately, and this is a great example of that.
If you think it sucks, well, I can't help you there. :)

I think it's great. Good job to both of you guys with getting the new forums up and running.
Thanks man, I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I'm liking it alot better than the old forum skin since it's quicker to load and sleeker, but like everything it'll take a bit to get used to.

I REALLY like the skin too...
You did a very good job with it ADM...

I love the theme, but is it possible to make the text input areas look similar? They stand out alot.
It is possible but it's not needed. They look fine to me.

Thanks for the skin ADM, it is much better than the other one.

I like it, but I miss the look of the old place, even though this is similar.

Yeah, same here.
But changes are good. And indeed ADM did a great job. I like the new look so thank you ADM (without you it would probably be pink and flowers again ;) )
Well, I like vb better, editing is waaaaaay better, so just release some games and I'll send you a pie.:widjoe:
I really like the new skin. Congratulations, ADM! However, I think the "Post New Thread" and "Post Reply" images don't fit with the rest of the theme. They match the images in the left menu. I have created a couple of replacement images I think may fit better. Use them freely if you like them.
Edit: minor corrections. The text was not centered.

Exactly. They're supposed to look like the left menu. I feel it ties the forum graphics into the menu that way.
Additionally, long time members of our forums might recognize the graphics. They're the exact same ones we used on UBB.Classic. They were just copied over from that directory on the server.

No problem, I was just nit-picking.

i miss the blue bar between each posts :(, made it a lot easier to read imo
also, there's something different about the font/spacing which bugs the hell out of me, but i can't put my finger on it exactly

Same for me, I like the separation that the blue post borders provided.
I think one of the objectives for the new skin was to offer easier readability, but to me it hasn't been an improvement.
IMO the main index page is the biggest offender, the white font creates a very 'busy' look, especially the text in the blue bars.
On top of that, the reply box is a rather unsubtle stand-out.
Overall, I prefer the more subdued colour scheme from before.
I also miss the following from the old board:
- The "number of new posts in thread" indication
- The "reply to" indicator function, which I assume was lost with the threaded mode, but that I found extremely useful in flat mode.
Other than quoting, is there a way to indicate you're replying to a specific user in the new setup?
- The "quote within a quote" function.
Unless I'm missing something, only the input of the member I'm quoting myself is visible in the quote window.
- The forum icons
These did a nice job of spacing out the forums, making them more easily identifiable and giving them 'character'.
All in all I'd say the new board is workable, but I don't necessarily see it as the progressive step that others do.

All in all I'd say the new board is workable, but I don't necessarily see it as the progressive step that others do.
I see two reasons for that. Either a) He's new to vB and that's why he doesn't want to have to resort to hacks to retain certain features; or b) He is really trying to minimise the server loads that can affect this place once Prey and later DNF hits.

Kalki, regarding a)... Yes, I'm new to vb, but that wouldn't stop me from hacking the software. I quite frankly don't see the need.
b) That's more the reason than a.

Point taken.
I'd like to request two new "smilies" with the corresponding code, if it's feasible.
Thumbs up (tu) - http://forums.3drealms.com/vb/images/icons/icon14.gif - :tu:
Thumbs down (td) - http://forums.3drealms.com/vb/images/icons/icon13.gif - :td:
Granted, they're not smilies in the strictest sense but then neither is
If it was in the smiley list with the code, I'd use it more often within my posts (instead of inserting it with an image link). I've seen people use it in conjunction with the other smilies to convey approval/disapproval more effectively. :Dhttp://forums.3drealms.com/vb/images/icons/icon14.gif

I like the new skin because it fits the current website design, but I think the complete website desperately needs a new design.

I hope the future design of the website will stay true to the original color scheme currently in use.

I dont like the skin. Its too small. I like huge stuff. But its still good, Ive gotten used to it.
peoplessi: What icons are that?
GodBlitZor: How big do you want it? This is the default size font on most sites.

That's quite frankly nonsense. It's the same as it was on the old forums. That hasn't changed. And if you don't like it, you can override it on the local level in your browser anyway. Nothing needs changed here.
Nice skin, but icons need some work, they stand out too much.
Making a comment like that without specific suggestions as to what you're talking about and what to do about it is fairly meaningless. Please elaborate.

Just an personal opinion, they are the only ones that do not "fit" the current skin. The skin is really good but these few icons could use some redesign ;)
They're the default vBulletin thread icons and they do the job. I really don't see how they don't "fit" the design as they are just icons and the only way they wouldn't really fit is if they were made for white backgrounds (which they arn't because I edited them all to work on dark backgrounds).

Might be the tilt?
And they don't really fit the color scheme...

Yeah, "they're fine" but they could be better, as most of the skin is redone and this little detail is left "as is". But is only minor detail glitch, and overall this new skin looks fantastic, and it has remain really readable which often is not the case when new skin is applied.

Does that really matter? Most forums don't bother to change them....because they are easily recognizable. I don't see any reason to edit them at all.

Yeah, "they're fine" but they could be better,
I disagree. Didn't see the point in being needlessly wordy about it, so "They're fine" was what I said.
