After clicking on my own username (user 43) I typed in a few other numbers out of curiosity to see how member numbers were assigned.
At any rate, I ran into a longtime member with a status of "Banned" under his username.
I went to the members list, but that particular member wasn't listed, so I assume banned members are suppressed from showing up in the members list. However, that member still has threads and posts, which also show the "Banned" status.
I'm not sure if this can be suppressed or not, but it could potentially be an issue if ppl see such threads and post "Haw Haw! [insert name] got banned!"
Yeah that's intentional. They aren't supposed to show up on the member's list and their posts and such will be left behind.
The banned title message I however don't know about. Maybe Joe wanted it or just didn't remove it.

I've personally given people that title in cases when I've banned someone who was causing large problems (spamming, huge flamewars, et cetera) in areas of the board where I was unable to delete their posts immediately as a way to get people who might have otherwise not known that the person was banned to stop arguing with them in the time period between when the member was banned and the time period that someone got around to removing their ban-worthy posts.
PM me and tell me who it is. :p

IF someone here is banned, their user title is automatically set to "Banned". Moderators don't need to do that anymore.

If that stuff happens, it will get removed. They are left generally because they're in the middle of conversations, and it would look silly to just excise them.
It depends on the severity of the post(s) requiring banning. If it's something like kiddie porn links (it's happened), it goes bye bye. If it's someone just saying we suck, and then they get banned for something else, I'm not going back and removing something like that - not worth the effort just to remove a message saying "We suck".

how come when you go too high (little above newest user, not insanly high like 9000) it says you dont have access to that page? I dont think its for an unconfirmed new user, since 5834, 1 after the newest user, is invalid not restricted. Heres a prime example # http://forums.3drealms.com/vb/member.php?u=5850 .

Why does that matter?
