hey peeps, a need a little help

Im here for my dedication to DN3D, I recently got it from a friend got JonoF's port and got it all working. Except one thing..

I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix my video so when i switch to 32bit polymost it dosent get all glitchty. The sprites and textures look great in the actual game, but the toolbar, weapons, and menu's are completely glitched and/or cant see them. I have a 3dfx video card.

thx..

Not sure, but it's probably the 3dfxcard. Haven't they been dead for a couple years now?

Your card is the problem, the engine doesn't quite support it perfectly.

If by "a couple" you mean around 6, yes.

Yes, but all 3dfx cards are currently unsupported.

is there any kind of fix i can do, without installing a whole different video card...

its a real shame too, everything looks great except the toolbar, weapon and menu..

the game itself is beautiful..

Unfortunately, there's no way to fix it at this point in time. Suffice to say, coding for a broken, 6 year old OpenGL implementation isn't our top priority at the moment. I know someone who might be able to take a look at it in a few months, but there isn't anything we can do for you right now. Sorry man.

I have a 3DFX Voodoo 5 in my old pc. Got it for $40. Sadly, it's better than my current pc's video card. :(

Pretty much all NVIDIA cards and most ATI cards should work.

You can probably find a really cheap GeForce4 or FX to replace your 3Dfx. Though you might even consider a low-end GeForce6, since the 6600 and FX5500 are just about the same price (10 dollar difference or something like that).

I just bought a new video card!!! A GeForce 7800 gs oc overclocked.

Running Duke Classic, with the HRP, everything is Oky Doky. But when i run with the sd_duke, the HUD gets all screwed up in 16 & 32 bitpolymost, 8 bitpolymost is Ok and everything else is Oky Doky.

Any ideas or do i wait for this situation to be gotten to. Thats ok, no rush, i can wait. OHHH, screenie of the problem.

Did you try deleting your "texcache" folder ?

In your options menu there should be an option to control the size of the HUD. Are you sure that isn't somehow changed.

Plagman's suggestion is the correct answer.
