I think the character Lara Croft has been dumbed down to something that feels like a toy, there's to much of her anywhere. Imagine the character in a game like MP, or twist her like Alice in American McGee's Alice. I think she's got potental, just the whole tomb raider series made the character hated overall since it wasn't serious enough

Lara Croft is no serious game character, it's just an overhyped marketing product. Duke Nukem and Max Payne are far more cooler and more famous game characters than some people think Lara Croft is.

Also Lara Croft is a totally dumb name. She is NOT sexy, she is so ugly with her awful boots. A sexy chick is one who wears sexy shoes like plateaus or high pumps. Just like ELEXIS SINCLAIR from SiN! Now that's a HOT chick!!!!! ELEXIS!!!!!

I know this protest comes too late, but I had no internet connection back in 1995, so I couldn't balme Lara Croft. Now it's too late to stop the LARA-CROFT-VIRUS, because this thread shows that many people like them. That makes me very sad. Not that I really care about either game or who's who for I play sports, workout, go to university, have a life etc, but which character has a movie based on them?? Lara Croft. There's your simple answer to who's more famous..again not that I care. Feel free to take a poll consisting of random people and I'm sure the name Lara Croft is more familiar to the general public than Max Payne, obvioulsy.

And I don't know about you other people, but I personally don't get turned on by video games. Therefore it's funny to read some of these arguments and comments people make. Also, it isn't possible for Lara Croft (or any video game character) to be any "uglier" than Max Payne who is the most retarded looking character ever made thanks to his stupid face. Yes I am aware of the possibility for a Max Payne movie etc, but as of right now that is irrelevant as to who's currently more famous (the MP movie still has to be created), which seemed to confuse certain people somehow, in which I then responded with an obvious basis. As little as I could care about all this, and for clarification sake again, I was only responding to the comment of who was more famous, that being Lara Croft. Some people need direction and guidance. I hate both characters equally..well a little more so Max Payne because of his stupid looking face, but again that's also irrelevant. Me neither. I rather prefer my special surf sessions in free porn sites and download pictures, videos and so on. I just compared Lara Croft to Elexis Sinclair, because Lara looks ugly actually compared to other game characters. See it in which light you ever want: Lara IS ugly. Period.

However, I must admit that some of the Eidos booth babes at E3 who were advertising Tomb Raider look quite pretty. But the virtual character Lara Croft looks ugly. I mean the polygon model (yes, it is nothing than a 3D model made of polygons) Elexis Sinclair looks ugly too, but not so ugly like the polygon model Lara Croft, heh. Their breats look like boxes, their legs look like beams, they are all so icky/angular.

Women heroes suck, not because of feminism or any shit like that, simply because they mostly are portrayed like eggheads or TOO smart. We all know Angelina Jolie isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, to portray her as a quick upstanding women just get's wrong. Erika Eleniak in "Under Siege", can anyone spell ANNOYING!!! Ruins the movie, I remembered that movie is an okay one, now it's below that because of her, I didn't remember how much she sucked. Bullet- I got a PSX when i was about 12 (15 n0w) and I don't have ANY Topmb raider games.

They are simply pieces of shit. Having tried some of them out at a friend's house, they suck.

Crappy controls, poor camera angles, boring graphics compared to other PSX games, it was just terrible.

And instead of taking 2-3 years to fix up the problems of the first game, Eidos simply released one TR game per year, which was basically a level expansion.

Ive been a fan of Lara Croft since the third came out. Since the fifth release, everythings been so quiet...u know why?

Core is doing new hi-tech game of Tomb Raider. But the game is not Tomb Raider anymore guys! And you dont play only Lara anymore...It's Curtis time! Anyway if u havent seen the movie of the upcoming lara-game, u should search for it (believe me, its worth it) The game should be out in the christmas, and I'll buy it when it comes out..


And comparing Max into Lara. Umm.
