Just curious, what's your fav. Max Payne quote? I personally like "He was one of those old-time bad guys, with honor and morals, which almost made him one of the good guys." Just, with all the poetry Max spouts througout the game, there are plenty of lines worth remembering.

At the beginning of chapter six, part 1 there are familiar lines in the dialog:
"... It's the end of the world as we know it..."
"But I don't feel fine..."
Funny images/icons/grin.gif To me the writer was playing with the words of the REM's famous song, I think. Is it?

Hmmmm...favorite quote. Well, the whole game is a big quote for me. But for now, I will settle on:
"Sooner or later it was going to catch up with you. You'd find that lady luck was a hooker and you were fresh out of cash"
and
"Nothing is a cliche when it's happening to you."

I prefer "My Beretta stirred nervously under my coat," "...riding shotgun," "Mystery witch...smoking assault rifle," "...guns..." "Flickering and flashing to a machine gun beat," "Pulled out a gun..."

I like the bit where Max talks about being in a videogame.
Beginning / End of the game:
"It was all over. The final shots were an exclemation mark to all of it. I pulled my finger off the trigger."
And Alfred Woden:
"It must be kept under wraps! If you decide to go public with this, we will deny any knowledge of your existence!"
Joe3DR: Heard about it, didn't find it. Where is it?

If Max belted out a verse of "The Safety Dance," that would be my favorite. He, however, never does this, so I guess I'll just have to go with "Your rights will be read at your funeral." Deliciously cheesy. images/icons/smile.gif

My favorite quotes would have to be:
"The wind was tearing at my face like sand paper and razor blades"
"I have tasted the flesh of fallen angels!"
and
"Death is coming!"
What?!
You mean the blood maze in part III prologue?
I only saw there Max realizing he's in a comic novel...

I don't know about midgets. But I really like the line that goes something like "Push a man too far, and eventually he'll push back". I guess you could combine the two and push midgets. But I don't really want to know what it's like when you are attacked by a midget.

I personally like the one where Max finishes reading the note in Rico Muerte's room, scrunches it up and tosses it away. It went something like...
"Collecting evidence had gotten old a few hundred bullets back."
I think there was another around there, too...
"I was so far past the point of no return that I didn't even remember what it looked like when I crossed it."

Man, this game is so full of great quotes that I still get overwhelmed.
One of my favourites is "Death was in the air at Roscoe Street" -- really atmospheric and scary right when everything's about to start.

I almost forgot all the things that Max's enemies say. The voice acting is the best I've ever heard in a computer game. They must have had a hell of a great time recording all the talk. Everyone from the junkies on the street to the biggest bosses, they're all great.
Here are some favourites:
-- Vinnie Gognitti is great throughout the game. Like "...or yer finito finitoes", "Paiyne!!!", "Screw you", etc. His voice is hilarous.
-- I dig the guys at the Coke machine at the hotel. "Piece of crap" and "*hoarse voice* hahah! Watch out, it might kick back at ya".
-- The guys whistling for themselves while they're peeing or something. I like the melody images/icons/grin.gif
-- And of course "Oh, Rico, yer soo baaad" and "It's that cop!" images/icons/tongue.gif
-- The two guys standing by the fire in the barrel over at the tenement. They're sounding so frozen, sad and desperate. "And I don't feel fine...I don't feel anything".
-- And the thugs discussing movies...
-- And of course the wicked TV shows they watch (that flamingo thing is seriously wicked, who came up with that?). Only thing I miss is some funny comments and laughter from the thugs.
-- ...and lets not forget the junkies. "*quickly* Uh! Uu! I'm gonna kill ya! ... Uh! Yea! Yeeesss!" etc. etc. images/icons/smile.gif
Great speech makes a great game, and MP is the best of 'em all. I've got more computer game quotes than movie quotes in my head - Monkey Island, Half-Life, Police Quest 4,Day Of The Tentacle, whatever... images/icons/smile.gif

It wasn't about how smart or how good you were. It was chaos and luck, and anyone who thought differently was a fool. All you could do was to hang on madly, as long and as hard as you could.
