Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii

Yep, I can see myself getting some cool games like this myself. Smash Bros., Metroid, Zelda, all of the big Nintendo game personalities. Maybe a Sonic game, too, if that's one of the franchises set to be released at launch (seeing how Sega wants to partner with their former rivals, Nintendo for help).

Now I'm getting Wii.
I hope they might add some Square characters, like Geno and Mallow, both who were in Super Mario RPG, and most of the FF6 (3 on SNES) characters... especially Locke. Megaman, Megaman X, Zero, and Forte (or bass for you that prefer the english name) would be nice too.

This is already a must-buy for me. :D I'm glad they finally decided to include Pit. Maybe Simon Belmont, Mega Man and some other third party guys will be in there too....because Solid Snake basically tells me anyone is possible.

I hope the Bionic Commando makes it in.....hehe

And i hope for gods sake, that they're not replacing Samus with armor with the version of her without it... I hope both are in...

And i'm glad Wario is in... I hoped he was in SSBM, but i'm glad he's in this version... :)
I haven't tried any MGS games ever, but i heard they are cool, and i like the way Solid Snake popped into the scene... :D

I wonder what new attacks we can expect... New special attacks coming to mind... :o

Has anyone found anything on Kojima's own statement about this? He supposedly "begged" for Snake to be put into Melee but they were too late in production.

I first thought it was so strange snake was in it. But I guess melee is a huge part of mgs's combat so maybe it will work. I'm sure he will have some pretty funny moves. (like the box thing) I find it so funny how all the other characters are cartoon looking and snake isn't.

RPG? Where on earth would you get that impression? Its a fighting game through and through, considering they've already said the core gameplay remains largely untouched.

Who knows? Maybe a living Tetris block for all we know! If it can tumble around by pressing a D-pad, you can be able to tumble the block right into your opponent easily... Just better see if Elorg is willing to let Nintendo use a cluster of four blocks in order to do that...

lol. I was sold when the it was announced as Revolution and it played SNES games. Hell, Wii or Revolution, this this is badass. I think Nintendo will win this round hands down. TBH, I only got my 360 for Halo3 and some titles that sound interesting, so its a lie if I say I love it like i do my GameCube

Well, the Wii may be even more of a sellout than the X360 EVER was, I can see that preordering is the only way to buy one, it'll be sold out, guaranteed within a few hours of launch (look at the X360, dejavu with the Wii). Unless you think Nintendo may learn some lessons from Mr. Gate$.

As Zuljin already said, Kojima wanted him in SSBM, and he's happy to have his character being in this new title...

HAL (the developers of the SSB series) are very talented,and i'm sure they can make Snake (lol, rhymed) a great character for the game... :cool:

I don't know if they've released the full character list for the game, but Pac-Man would be viable, as they were planning to release (or have released) an arcade version of Mario Kart over in Japan that featured Pac-Man racing against the likes of Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, Wario, etc..

I see SSBB as being the #1 selling title in Nintendo's library for the Wii on a more serious note. AFAIK, that's gonna be the game of the town throughout the first few weeks the Wii's out, that, maybe Mario Galaxy, Red Steel, Zelda Twilight Princess, etc... However, we have yet to see how much some of these game titles cost (hopefully cheaper than a X360 or PS3 game).

This is Nintendo's project not everyone and their daughter's publishing company mascot. That'd get outrageous quickly, because you'd have to ask everyone. Namco has a tight bond with Nintendo, this is why it is expressed that it'd be possible to see Pac-Man. Sega has a pretty good bond with Nintendo (surprising, Sega was responsible for F-Zero GX on the GameCube), so Sega would be there.

Sorry to shoot the notion down. I just don't see it happening. Sega and Namco's are much more likely.

If I'm not mistaken, I remember that Nintendo did, however, originally did have bonds with Alexey Pajitnov for Tetris (after all, it was Nintendo that brought Tetris to popularity in the first place). However, I believe that THQ is publishing Tetris now, but whether or not Nintendo has that same feeling for Tetris that they used to, I dunno...

:doh: That's right, the guy who developed Tetris (Pajitnov) so happens to be with Nintendo's competition in Microsoft, my bad... Better hope he's not doing Tetris for XBox Live Arcade now...

Supposedly, Western users can also submit character ideas. The Japanese get a site to do it, but someone on Gamespot said they emailed here, nintendo@noa.nintendo.com and got a reply that said they can submit ideas here.

Hehe, I'm a recycled Nintendo fanboy myself (having had a NES, SNES, then went to the PSX, now an XBox, and looking to go back to Nintendo for the Wii (I already have the GBA SP, and a DS on the way). Also, a little off topic, just like Peter Moore said, "For the price of a PS3, you could buy both a X360 AND a Wii, and still have money left over for games for both." I see the same being true for handhelds, because for the same price as the PSP, you can easily buy both of Nintendo's handhelds, and still own all the Mario games you want for both of them.

Now, back to the topic at hand, as for my character submission, believe it or not (now don't call my the laughing stock of the forums), I chose Papa Smurf! Yeah, weird to think about that, but it just might work... That, maybe Gargamel with his magical powers. Nintendo and Peyo coming together? Now that's a first... Maybe Nintendo may just own some rights to use Peyo's characters in some games, it may happen...

Rare doing Donkey Kong Country was like EA doing a game about a movie. For Nintendo it's their IP and to them it's original IP. To Rare, it was a licensed IP and non-original.
