Unless you're a person who absolutely can't play games that don't have next-gen graphics, picking up some old gems through collections is a good idea. So, help others get ahold of nice series by alerting them of upcoming or already released, and preferably affordable, collections and compilations.

I don't think a lot of people here missed out on hearing about the C&C: The First Decade box, but I'll give it another mention. The release has its issues, the important ones fixed either by the developers or fans, but overall, you get a lot of bang for your buck - 6 acclaimed games and their respective expansions for about 35 USD. Plus, it's the series that pioneered the RTS genre; it's a valuable piece of gaming history!

Just today I read about two upcoming compilations - The Baldur's Gate series and the Icewind Dale series, both of which will be released this June. Both are very good if you're looking for some epic fantasy adventuring. With each release you get a complete game series - excluding unnecessary "spin-offs" in the case of the Baldur's Gate series. BTW, the BG series will easily offer you over 200 hours of playtime - add to that a good replay value (and fanmade mods that further add to the longevity of the series.)

Myself, I'm interested in getting some compilations of adventure games. Anyone got some recommendations for that? Recommend anything though: I'm sure we've all have missed out on some gems we could easily acquire in bundles.

Oh come on! They can't release that so soon after I've bought them!

*slams head against wall*

There are compilations for sierra games planned by VUgames, but they've been a no show for a year now. Have to wait and see if they even exist.

I own quite a ton of compilation game collections for my XBox, and I swear to them that they are far easier on the controller than the newer games. At least it's not mashing buttons as much as these complex games they're making for consoles this day in age... Most of the games they make these days should be on a PC, not a console... I'm for simple game controlling, not hitting six or seven buttons at the same time just to do one move...

I own most, if not all just from buying them over the years.

So is the Wii, since you can d/l Nintendo, Sega, and Hudson classics right on your Wii HDD. For the rest, well, just go after those GameCube compilations of old games, then you'll have a library that you would only wish you've owned for a long, long time...

Yes, as Beelze said in his initial post, that's a good collection.. especially now that it's patched. I recommend it too, great stuff.
