Ok, First of all I am new to gaming stuff and got Max Payne and it is a great game. I think I am on Level 7. How many more to go? And can you get a controller or Joystick for Max Payne(or any action shooting games). And for the patch 1.2 or whatever do you need it or what does it trully fix. Is the mod building deal hard to use? I appreciate all the help. Bill

Hi Bill.

you can buy a joystick\gamepad at your local gamestore, but I'm not sure if Max Payne supports a joystick\gamepad. The game was designed for the 'ol mouse and keyboard - if you use a joystick\gamepad it will be harder to play.

my logitech wingman i got for my birthday (the 8th of this month) is cool. just seems to have bugs with games. but it's convenient! there's a button to play hitman right in the controller profiler. or half-life or mp or nolf.

Well there are 10 chapters/levels on the 1st part, 5 chapters on the 2nd part, and 8 chapters on the 3rd part if I am not mistaken. You can do the math to figure out how much is left. I'm to Lazy to images/icons/tongue.gif oh and before I forget. Welcome and I hope you have a good time here.

The patch won't improve the game much if you don't have any technical problems to fix. But as a rule of thumb, always get the latest version/patch of a game if it's not too bothersome (this is often required for multiplayer games to work properly).

As for mods, the difficulty of making mods depends on the game, the tools, and what type of mod you want to make. MP is very detailed and making a level in the same class as the original MP levels is very hard and time consuming (tough possible), while a simple pistol mod is far easier. But still, you'd have to make 3D models and all. Using other people's mods is easy, though I haven't tried it yet.

...and welcome to the board Bill! Enjoy it and the rest of the game! images/icons/smile.gif
